Flowers

Marissa, on June 24, 2019 at 5:53 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 24
Just wondering what everyone did for flowers. I’m not a huge flower person but I definitely want a bouquet. I really like the greenery look. But I don’t want to spend oodles on them. I booked a florist but honestly wouldn’t care about cancelling on her if there was a better alternative (deposit was super small). It’s kinda expensive in my opinion. I’ve just learned about the wooden flowers from online and some people using hobby lobby flowers as well. Let me know what you did/your opinion! Pics welcome!

My bouquet is silk from Etsy and my bridesmaid's bouquets were DIY using premade Michael's ones bought on a great sale. I will say that my bouquet cost about as much as a fresh flower one would in my area, but I wanted a high quality one as a keepsake.

I love flowers and I think they’re a big part of a wedding but I didn’t want to break the bank because of it. I did a lot of research and asked my florist a lot of questions as far as flowers on season, different prices for flowers for all of our arrangements. Here is my bouquet.

Am making my own flowers out of paper, just because I dont like real flowers. There are you tube videos on how to do them and there are also companies that do paper flowers.

After hearing from several florists that it'd be $1000+ to do real flowers, I decided I would go to JoAnn's, Michael's, and Hobby Lobby during sales/with coupons to get faux flowers. Three bridesmaid bouquets, a cascade bridal bouquet, 5 boutonnieres, 3 corsages, and 15 centerpieces cost me around $125 compared to the $1000+ I was quoted, and they still look lovely!

I’m not spending a whole lot of money on our flowers either!!! In one picture is the list I’m getting on a Sam’s Club wedding flower bundle. The other picture is the bundle I choose from Sam’s Club. I’m paying about $900 for all real flowers.

We did real flowers- I honestly prefer the look and feel of them anyways. Since we were doing flowerless and centerpieces and decor, we were able to afford them. For $600 our florist is making my bouquet, 4 bridesmaids bouquets, FHs boutonniere, 8 boutonnieres, and 3 wrist corsages. We saved $150 by picking them up ourselves.

Definitely something like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. I got mine from Hobby Lobby and still love them. And they have so much greenery to choose from, plus sales all the time.

I’m doing sunflowers and baby’s breath. My friend is a florist and will get them wholesale and just charge me the cost and $200 for her labor. Saves a ton of money that way. So will be spending roughly $350 on flowers. Only need 4 bouquets and 2 flower girl wands. I’m not doing boutonnières or corsages. And no floral centerpieces

Yeah! The total I listed previously was just for the flowers, not including the cost of the vases and filler at the bottom. I only have a picture of one vase -- we will also be doing a slightly taller vase with submerged flowers and a smaller fish bowl with a single floating flower on top. I'll post the picture in a moment, as the app isn't letting me post it right now for some reason.

I'm going with artificial flowers that I found on Etsy. The shop is called DressMyWedding, and the flowers look real, are absolutely beautiful, and they are affordable. Here is a pic of something similar.
