Florist Prices

MaryElena, on August 9, 2020 at 3:36 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 10
Our wedding colors are mint green and gray. FH and I decided to use dusty miller (silver gray) and eucalyptus (mint) for our greenery.

We wanted both white calla lilies and white roses
Our wedding party only consists of 1 MOH, 1 Best Man, 1 Flower girl and 1 Ring bearer We need 2 bouquets 3 corsages and 5 boutonnières
FH and I will be the only two people with both types of flowers
MOH and Best Man will have white roses and white tea roses with greenery
Fathers, Grandfathers and RB will have white tea roses with greenery
Mothers and his Grandmother will have mini calla lilies and eucalyptus. The florist we consulted is charging $40 a piece for each corsage
Wired eucalyptus for ceremony gazebo
Garland (Dusty miller and Eucalyptus) with candle pedestals and votive candles for sweetheart table
Our centerpieces are TBD
The florist quoted us $2,017 The estimate is a bit steep in my opinionWhat is a reasonable price range for these types of florals? Should we look elsewhere? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!

That’s going to depend on your area and each florist. I’m having a bouquet of just greenery with dusty miller, ferns, eucalyptus (seeded & leaf) and maybe some berries, etc. (no flowers) and the bouquet alone is about $155...each corsage is around $35. Again we are not doing any blooms or if she does include any it will be minimal.

Agree with Marisa. It will depend on where you on but just glancing at your list that is a lot of flowers. Have you called around and asked other florists with great reviews? Some will charge more than others.

Price depends on your location and in-season vs outof season flowers. Browse the vendor tab and get quotes locally to comparison shop within your budget.

Definitely highly dependent on your location and what flowers you are choosing (ie, are they in season? Need to be flown in?) My bouquet alone is nearly $300. Total cost for our florals is $2700 for my bouquet and 5 centerpieces

Calla Lilies and roses are expensive flowers. This actually seems a little low depending on location - and it will probably go up as you add centerpieces . . .

That would definitely be cheap in our area for everything you listed. Unfortunately, the high demand for eucalyptus has made it a more expensive greenery option, and Garland is general charged by the foot so it can add up fast. There’s nothing wrong with quoting from multiple places. I quoted three florists for bridal bouquet and grooms boutonnière and got prices ranging from $250-475 sending the same inspiration photos and no specific flower or greenery requests. We went with the mid-range because their portfolio was the best for what I want.

This sounds reasonable to me for what you’re getting, honestly.

Also agree that it depends on the area, as well as what flowers and if they are in season. The floral industry has also taken a big hit due to the pandemic, so that may be a factor. Shop around and see what other florists say. Flowers are also expensive in general, it can often one of the highest expenses. Our florist quoted us $2,500. Now that we’ve postponed and see doing a micro-wedding on our date, we’re still paying about $500 for my bouquet, two bm bouquets, 2 corsages and 6 boutonnière

Sounds about right. I’d look into different flowers and more greenery to cut down on cost. Baby’s breath is inexpensive and a pretty filler.

Flowers have such varying prices depending on many different factors, type of flower, season, location, etc. I would definitely recommend getting other quotes! It never hurts to have options. Even with that I will say I know that price sounds high, but I don't think it's totally unreasonable. The type of flowers is definitely part of it. Greenery can be expensive, eucalyptus in particular.
