First Valentine’s Day as a married woman!

Sharonda, on February 15, 2021 at 11:42 AM Posted in Married Life 0 9
Hello ladies and gents! Yesterday was my first Valentine’s Day as a married woman. My hubby and I spent the day watching movies, he cooked a lovely steak dinner, and we exchanged small thoughtful gifts. It was different this year because we were long distance before we got married so it was nice to actually spend the day with him. For those of you who have gotten married in the last year, how was your first Valentine’s Day as a wife or husband? Did you celebrate? Did it feel any different?

My fiance loves Valentine's Day, so I always try to make it a big affair. This year was hard because our entire city is still shut down, so we couldn't do what we usually do, which is go around town to different attractions to eat and have fun. Instead, I made him a steak dinner from scratch and we made a fancy dessert together, and then we just watched a movie. And honestly, it was so wonderful. So I guess it felt different in lots of ways, but it was the happiest one yet.

We had fun! Hubby made ribs and I made mac & cheese. He got me roses and a DIY candle making kit. I got him small things and chocolate covered strawberries. We watched Netflix. It was nice

We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day- we go exchange cards. He did get me a present- I’m getting the last of my tattoo done.

It definitely felt a little more magical this year! We went to a fancy restaurant for steak and seafood dinner on Saturday night. (One more tally mark for steak!) Sunday we relaxed at home and cooked a big Italian dinner that we shared with another couple. My husband actually brought out the laptop to show his friend our wedding pics! Like someone else mentioned, seeing the word “wife” on the card really gave me butterflies!

Ours was AMAZING! On Saturday he and I went to dinner at Fogo De Chao (it was my husbands first time and he absolutely loved it). We went home and had some drinks and watched movies together. On Sunday we got up and exchanged gifts in the morning then went to lunch at Texas Roadhouse with our son and my stepson. I got my husband 4 pair of jeans, 4 shirts, and a bunch of candy. He got me some roses, chocolate covered strawberries, a bunch of candy, and a $100 gift card to Victoria Secret. Definitely an amazing first valentines day married!
