First Corona and now a Wildfire

Amber, on August 14, 2020 at 3:29 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 0 3
I just need to vent. Despite Corona we were planned to go through with a 60 person wedding on a 600+ acre ranch that we were set to rent out for the whole weekend. We could socially distance with ease and almost one week out things were starting to look hopeful for me again. I was starting to get excited for my wedding (something I’ve been struggling with during this pandemic) and it seemed like everything was finally falling into place. Then one of my bridesmaids texted me today saying I’m so sorry about the wildfire that’s so close to your venue. I had no idea until she messaged me, that a day prior a very active wildfire broke out only 15 miles from the venue. With the wedding week being one week from tomorrow and conditions worsening I’m afraid our venue will be 1) covered with falling ash 2) in the soon to expand mandatory evacuation zone and 3) air quality so poor it will choke you. I’m at a loss and feel utterly defeated. I just want to lay in bed and cry the rest of the day. I told my fiancé if we still are to have our wedding we better start looking for an alternative outdoor venue now. I’m not hopeful things will be better in week and I wish that I was. I am at a loss and just want to say ok life you win- F 2020 - sorry end rant

Have you gotten in touch with your venue? Do you know what the conditions are like now? Hoping for a good update!! 🙏🤞

Hey Lynnie, so a wildfire stole my dream wedding from me, but not my spirits. We got married in a field in FarmVille no where Colorado. Despite everything detailing the last minute, we still had the most lovely day with all of our favorite people. Our relationship is only stronger from this and I still got to marry my best friend ❤️

Even things came down to a last minute rush - it sounds like it ended up being an intimate and amazing day! 🥂❤️Smiley ring
