fh band

FH is allergic to nickel, so we have been having a hard time finding a band for him. We agreed to let him wear his band to make sure nothing happens prior to the wedding. We tried tungsten and he had a red ring around his finger and now we are trying a stainless steel ring. It's been about 2 weeks and now the ring is doing the same like the tungsten ring. FH has been married before and had a plain gold wedding band (does not want another one) and this did not happen before. After getting more details from FH, I learned that he does EVERYTHING with the ring on including sleeping, working out, showering, etc. He has taken it off to allow his finger to scab and heal. Do you think this is happening be he just never takes it off to allow his finger to breathe or is this an allergic reaction? With both the tungsten and sterling silver it took about 2 weeks before a red ring happened around his finger. TIA

Tungsten is hypoallergenic, so I would assume that his irritation is because of a poor fit or because the ring is keeping soap and moisture locked into the skin.

Try titanium or just plain silicone maybe? Sounds like it is an allergic reaction to me if it is scabbing.

I’m allergic to certain metals and this also happens to me with jewelry. I’m sorry this is making your search so difficult! Could you try platinum or titanium?

There is a company called Manly Bands that makes rings out of lots of different materials, including nonmetals. You should look into that and see if there is anything that fits your style preference

His true size is a 10.75, but none of these come in quarter sizes. A size 11 is falling off his finger, so we went with a 10.5. Do you think we should do an 11 and get a ring guard to prevent it from slipping off his finger?

Yeah he has a plain silicone ring, but he wanted something flashy too lol. We will look at some titanium bands.

I've heard of that sight. I may have to go take a look. Did you order your FH band from there?

Mine is platinum. I haven’t had any issues, just with other metals (nickel, copper in earrings and other rings).

My husband has a carbon fiber/koa wood ring from Stoberi. The wood can’t get wet so he takes it off when he washes his hands.
