Feeling super sad

Andrea, on February 6, 2020 at 2:33 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 9
Ladies (and gents), I found out a few hours ago that my awesome grandfather just passed away. He was 89 and my last living grandparent. He was super healthy until about a week ago when he got pneumonia.

Our wedding is in 21 days, and I’m feeling down. My eyes hurt from crying and I am just incredibly sad. I won’t be able to attend the funeral tomorrow because he’s in Central America. We literally just talked on the phone a couple of days ago too.

Please send kind words. I have details and payments left to do in the next couple of weeks, and I pick up my dress next week. It just feels weird to be planning a happy moment when my heart hurts that he’s no longer here.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Take your time and don’t be afraid to ask friends and family for help while you’re navigating grief over your grandfather and excitement over your wedding.

I took your advice and started doing this today. Trying to delegate out tasks to others to help me with the finishing touches.

This feels super true, I didn't think about it before. I asked my mom if she had anything old that he might have given her that I could wear for my "something old". And if not, I have a charm he gifted me when I was born that I can also wear. I'll bring it all and decide the day of what works best with my dress cause I can't think of it now.

I'm so sorry. I lost my Grandpa a year and a half ago and he was one of my favorite people in the world. We were always really close and I still miss him.

    I'm sorry too.

It feels completely surreal. I want to call him because I think he will pick up the phone, but I won't get that chance anymore. I'm back at work today because I think it's good to keep busy, to keep my mind away. But, I just miss him even more cause he would always call me at work.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I understand the pain you are going through. Both grandparents on my Momma's side have passed. I was super close with my Momma's parents and I'm incredibly heartbroken that they can't share this special day with us. My grandpa always used to tell me that he wanted to dance with me at my wedding.

Just remember it is ok to feel sad, even during this happy time because you are still grieving.
