We're wanting to have a farewell brunch as part of our intimate destination wedding, but every restaurant we've reached out to has a food & beverage minimum to rival that of our wedding reception. We also won't know until we get much closer to the wedding weekend when everyone's outgoing flights will be, so I think something come and go would probably be preferred.
For those of you who have done a DIY farewell brunch, what sort of things have you included? If it were in my own home I'd make a few dishes of breakfast casserole/baked frittata and coffee cake and then maybe get fruit and other pastries from the grocery store along with assorted juices for a mimosa bar.
How completely un-doable do you think that would be? We have 4 suites reserved across the hotel, all with full kitchens, but it sounds like just another thing for us to worry about.
What sort of things can be store bought a few days in advance, or what should I look for from local bakeries?
