Family - Remembering Loved One

Olivia, on January 16, 2023 at 4:22 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 12
So I found out the day after July 4th that my grandmother passed away and I am trying to figure out what to do for the rehearsal dinner in her honor. She was supposed to be here celebrating her firstborn granddaughter getting married.

I don’t know what I am going to do. I have 2 bridesmaids and 2 maids of honor. Any idea?

For the ceremony or reception, some people have kept a space set aside for remembering a family member who has died. I think usually a picture and a reserved chair. This could be done in the rehearsal dinner too.

Do you have any of her jewelry? If so, you could wear some of her jewelry to your rehearsal and rehearsal dinner in memory of her.

Perhaps you'd feel comfortable telling a nice story and marking that you're missing her at the rehearsal dinner. I would check with family to make sure they'd be ok with that.

    Really sorry for your loss.

Maybe play her favorite song or serve her favorite dessert

So sorry for your loss. You can honor your grandmother in any way you feel comfortable. You can put out photos of her , you can get a nice locket and put her photo inside, Etsy sells photo charms that you can add to your bouquet or pin on a piece of clothing you are wearing, you can serve her fave dish, dessert or drink, or maybe have her favorite flowers out on the table. You do what will make you feel good, she ll be with you in your heart the whole day Smiley heart

It would also most likely be pretty easy to pull off! You would just need to have enough of the dessert for everyone if you choose to do that
