Fall 2021 Colorado Brides

Emi, on March 6, 2021 at 8:04 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 0 9

Hi Brides!

Is anyone planning a wedding in Colorado for Fall 2021?

One of my fiancé and my contingency dates is October 16, 2021. We're starting to get close to when we would typically send out Save the Dates. My fiancé and I are trying to decide if we should keep the Fall 2021 date or postpone yet again to our last contingency date in Spring 2022.

I'm nervous that vaccine or not, a 2021 wedding will be just like a 2020 one. For a true wedding fantasy- one devoid of stress and public- health measures and full of warm embraces and sheer joy- to come to fruition, it might be best to postpone to 2022.

What are you all doing?

Ya I’m not sure. Ours is supposed to be October 2. I am feeling more optimistic that it would be more normal than 2020. However, my biggest issue is that half the guests are from Canada (including my whole family). If Canada continues to have intense quarantine measures in place, I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask people to come to Colorado. I think I’m going to wait until June to decide basically. I really don’t want to postpone...

Ours is supposed to be 9/24/21 in Castle Rock, Colorado. We are moving forward with our date and feel pretty optimistic about how things will turn out. Colorado (Denver) has been doing a great job on distributing the vaccines and the Colorado Covid Website says the general public should start getting vaccinated by summer '21. We sent our save the dates out to ~280 people. We are going to wait until July to mail our invitations. We'll see how the next several months go... We may need to significantly reduce our guestlist before sending the invitations, but we'll see. Fingers crossed we don't!

We’ve considered waiting until Summer to make the ball, but want to ensure that we give out of town guests enough notice. Will you still send out save the dates or opt for invitations only once you make the call in June?

We sent out save the dates but put a note on our website about covid basically. We wanted to make sure people knew about the wedding like you said and in the case that it moves, we will probably post on the website. Also, we would send a change date email. I think summer is a safe bet to make the call. Although everything is so up and down who knows really.

Happy to hear your optimism! Fingers crossed that we can all move forward! Are you concerned that guests will have to wear masks or that you will not be able to have a dance floor even with the vaccine?

I know... that is what is causing me so much anxiety! Everything is so up and down. I like your plan with the save the dates and wedding website note/ updates. I keep waiting to have a solid plan before we send anything, but I’m not sure if that’s realistic.

I don’t think so actually! I’ve watched the governors press conferences religiously (LOL). And he basically said he doesn’t see mask wearing continuing in June and beyond. He also said the general public vaccinations for Colorado are moving up to between mid April and mid May. My biggest concern is the travel restrictions, but I have a very different case than most people with our guest count.

I think people are a lot more understanding with how everything is so I wouldn’t be super concerned about it for the save the dates. I basically pretend it’s happening for sure or else I have no motivation to plan anything.
