Euro Trip!

Chelsea, on July 26, 2019 at 9:38 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 7
Anyone planning or has done a trip to Europe? The FH and I have been trying to make plans to go to Europe for a couple years so the honeymoon is the perfect excuse to just do it! He wants to go to Prague, I want to tour Auschwitz, and we both want to go to Germany. So, Czech Republic, Poland,& Germany. The curve ball is that we think we want to go over Christmas next year... We know it is cold, but we are getting married in early December 2020 and he gets 2 weeks off over Christmas so it wouldn't require taking off. Any tips on traveling to Europe? In the winter? To these places?
Thanks!!

Italy this December. Just booked our flight last week. Zero advice, but congrats!! I'm a teacher and sounds like he is in the educational field. It works out perfectly!

We went to Prague and Berlin last Christmas, we love Europe during Christmas. Lol
If you go to Prague, stay in Prague 1, you can walk to everything you want to see. Do not use taxi's, learn the currency because they have some money that's been replaced making it expired and if you're a tourist, they'll give you that instead of real money as your change.
If you go to Germany, I'd say Berlin is great for the Christmas markets, but you have to take public transportation to get anywhere. There's also a Holocaust memorial there. Less people speak English in Germany than you'd think so grab a translation book. This won't be as necessary in Prague. Ive only briefly been through Poland so I couldn't say much about there.
I'd look at Costco, they have really great vacation rates. I just found out about them and wished I had saved the money by using them.

If you're looking for things to do in either of these places, there's a lot of touristy things for both.
In Berlin, there's this Botanical Garden that lights up with Christmas lights in the evening, they have food and drinks there. There's huge Christmas markets that keep you decently busy. There's Museum Island too, which my FH loved. Also a lot of people like the zoo, I thought the habitats were depressingly small though.
In Prague, it's worth paying for the walking tours. They have one that shows all the nearby Synagogues and tells you about their history. There's a Medieval dinner show that we went to as well, which was interesting. You can visit the castle and there's lot of cute shops around it too.
