Hi Brides ☺️
We are getting married in Estes Park, which is destination for us! We will be there for about four days before the wedding, in which we would like to plan an activity each day where others could join in to spend time with us.

We are both athletic families and plan on hiking, any suggestions where at? We don't want to venture too far, but would be interested in a difficult climb one day.
Do you have any suggestions on lodging? We are about to rent out an air bnb for 30+ people.
Lastly, any other activities you would recommend to keep our out of town guests entertained in the days leading up to the wedding?

    I’m also getting married in Estes! Although we live in Colorado so it’s only about an hour and a half drive for us Smiley smile I’ll see if I can fix some info for you.

    Estes Park is such a pretty destination for a wedding. It sounds perfect for your athletic families!


    The town actually had its own tourism website which has tons of information on things to do and lodging! Have you checked it out yet? The white water rafting looks like fun!

    Rocky Mountain National Park is nearby & great for hiking! There is a good chance you'll see wildlife. It depends on the weather though, snow in May is pretty common. They have a few cute distilleries in town. The Stanley Hotel is fun to walk around & they do tours I think! I believe this year there is a music festival in May in Estes so you may want to check for that too.

    I'm getting married in Estes Park so I'm familiar with the are, especially since my FH and I are both Colorado natives. Here is my MUST DO list:

    - Emerald Lake Trail (one of my favorite views in all of Colorado) 15 miles outside of Downtown Estes Park

    - Bear Lake Trail is also an incredible hike with views too (really close to Emerald Lake)

    - Elkin's Distillery

    - Red Rose Rock Shop & Dick's Rock Museum

    - Memorial Observatory

    - Stanley Steam Car Museum (ghost tours are available and I highly recommend it - it's also a neat fact to tell your guests that "The Shinning" was filmed at The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park..."Here's Johnny!)

    - Watch a movie at Park Theater in Downtown Estes Park

    *most of these activities are free too!*
