Envelope Seals

Taylor, on April 19, 2023 at 9:24 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 1 9

I am trying to jazz my invitations up a little bit. They are really nothing fancy because I know people are just going to throw them out and it seemed like a waste to spend upwards of $500-$700 for fancy wedding invitations but I do want to do something to make them stand out. I found these cheap envelope stickers on amazon. My question is do we think its tacky and full of ourselves to have the sticker say "you're invited"? I think they are very cute but don't want anyone to take it the wrong way.

Try Etsy - LOTS of unique and decorative stickers you can get! I got mine there for our Post-wedding cocktail party in Disney. THey are Mickey and Minnie kissing, with our names and wedding date on them.

I found nice gold embossed heart stickers on Shein, $2 for 100. I ordered a few packs and planning to use those as seals for Thank You cards. They’re inexpensive, cute & elegant.

I went vintage and did my own wax seals. Doing so my invitations were hand stamped.

They were a huge hit and I plan on continuing my tradition of using them. making your own wax seals and including them is Very unique, Very fun, Very personable and SO RELAXING to do!!

I am NOT having a big wedding though, keep that in mind for yourself. It would become expensive if postage isn't included in your wedding budgeting with a large wedding. Hand stamping costs more. And it is the best way, if hand stamps aren't flush to the envelope and are used on the outside of the envelopes- to do. You don't want them going through the machines and getting smooshed or torn or broken off- nor getting stuck in the machinery ripping the entire invite!

Check out Shein or Temu for items priced SO AFFORDABLY, but before you purchase, count how many of whatever item(s) you are going to purchase come with the order you intend to purchase then do a quick comparison check on amazon. There are times using Amazon is a better deal than these sites (ex: having to order 7 of something from these sites to reach your quantity, but paying one dollar more on amazon you could get extras for the just in cases that may ensure, etc.)

You can also stamp your envelopes as well with something meaningful or even part of your theme, color etc. One stamp, done simply and placed in the right locale- can decorate up a envelope be it in the typical black stamping ink or even a color. Just get a rubber stamp that you like and then the ink, do a few practice runs and then go for it!

We also did this on our invites, tastefully. Another huge hit. It too personalizes the invitations without costing a fortune and makes the invites INVITING (lol) upon first sight. Not your typical run of the mill invitations. And it too, was so much fun and relaxing to do!

Wouldn't the postal service have a problem with those gumming up their equipment?
