Hello! I just started the process of planning everything and I’m just truthfully confused on what the etiquette is for engagement parties? Who do I invite to that? Where’s the best place to do something like that? I have a large immediate family. Thank you for any and all help!

Traditionally, the bride’s family threw the engagement party or had first dibs on it but any family member, friend or group of friends can offer to host one. Some couples host their own these days though a self celebrating party is not something I’m personally comfortable with, plus depending on your circles people may consider them to be a gift giving event. At one time the party was where the engagement was announced for the first time, but that’s not likely now.

Typically, those closest to you are invited, so not everyone invited to the wedding. Venues are often the host's home but can be anywhere.
