I think we are going to honeymoon there instead in Maui! But we havent made any definite decisions as we keep going back and forth between ceremony or honeymoon. What suggestions do you have? I would love to hear!! And any tips on a beach ceremony?

View Quoted Comment For a photographer Aaron Najera would be a good choice. I talked with him but will be bringing a previous photographer from mainland over. If you invite people and want to eat at a park, most public beaches have a shelter you can rent out. So you can go from the beach to a shelter. And some of the parks have them if you want to drive or a short walk after the ceremony. The thing I look for at a beach is if there is a coral reef near the shore to block some of the bigger waves coming in. Certain sides of the island have bigger waves than others. I'm also doing a morning wedding to avoid as much wind and heat as possible. You will need a beach permit as well.

We are getting married in oahu in 29 days. We went with Sweet Hawaiian Weddings for our elopement (just he and I). The total cost was about $1800. That's transportation (limo), ceremony, photos, HMUA, flowers, all on Waimanalo bay. Services are al a carte We had to wait 6months before the wedding to book for permit issues according to them but everything has been very smooth. We communicate through email due to the time difference (Philadelphia). It has been really stress free. Good luck with your planning.

We are getting married in February 2020, and didn't start planning until June of this year. We already knew it was going to be in Kauai cause we visited that island a while back and fell absolutely in love.

We also wanted it to be intimate, so we are only inviting immediate family - which would save so much money in the long run cause you aren't spending it on a giant party. The only thing we ended up doing is we paid for everyone's plane tickets and hotel rooms for the duration of our wedding. RT flights from LAX to Lihue are around $430 - I highly suggest you get the Hopper App. I also found that RT tickets from wherever the family lives to LAX and then a separate RT flight from LAX to Lihue was cheaper than if we got it from wherever they're coming from to Lihue. I saved at least $400/pp on plane tickets by checking and making sure I got the right tickets. Make sure you write this all down and give your guests enough time for their lay overs if you're getting separate RT flights.

We researched online for beach and waterfall weddings, and signed with Island Weddings and Blessings in Kauai. They're taking care of the permits, photographer, videographer, musician, etc. All we need to do is to be there on time with our rings and wedding license!
