Eloping in February

My fiancée and I want to elope, in February 2021, and she and I are looking for the best way to go about it.

We’ve talked about it a lot, and have decided that eloping then having a large reception is what we think would make us the happiest, and we think it would be really nice to get married and go on a little mini getaway weekend rather than doing it all as a big thing.

We’re in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, and are hoping to stay here to do it, and have a budget of about $500 for the elopement itself, and probably another $500 for our weekend getaway.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi L! I'm sorry you're having to make new plans but we're here to support and help you. Can you clarify for me, are you eloping away, or having a private wedding at home?
Are you thinking of getting married at home? If so, I've seen backyard weddings, living room Zoom weddings (The virtual wedding details that make all the difference ) drive up weddings, and weddings in local parks where that's allowed.
As for your little get away, what's open near you? Can you rent a little lake house? Go camping? Stay home and spend all that budget on spoiling each other with amazing food and gifts and maybe a sexy new outfit or two?
Let me know a little more about what you have in mind and I'd love to help more.

Check out some airbnb cabins some are lovely,. Are you looking to stay local for the getaway if not then road trip to Chicago, loads to do there. For more local I googled romantic B&B and MN has a good amount. One idea I am thinking of doing myself is going to the Hawks View Cottages and Lodges and renting it for two nights its a small getaway but still a lovely time.

We want to go somewhere.

We’ve found a nice mansion in Duluth that has elopement packages, and I think that’s what we’re currently looking into doing.
