Elopement Ceremony

Kelsi, on May 29, 2020 at 9:45 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 7
Hi everyone! I’m curious on if anyone here has videos from their elopement or an elopement that inspired them? We’re meeting with our officiant next week and I’m not sure what to expect ceremony script wise (we basically can choose how to do this). I had my original ceremony planned with readings and such but obviously that’s different now. I just want to see visuals of how other people have done theirs! BONUS POINTS if you didn’t write your own vows. FH doesn’t want to since we’ll be in front of his family and his anxiety. We just want short, sweet and meaningful.

Our video is on my friends phone, and Facebook, so I can't post it here, but it was super simple. We kinda wrote our own vows, but we both said the same thing, and it was a hodge podge of our favorite vows on pinterest. My parents walked my down the aisle, then our officiant did a small welcome, we exchanged vows that went like this

"I take you to be my husband/wife. I vow to chose you every day. To love you in word and deed. To do the hard work of making now, into always. To laugh with you, cry with you, grow with you, and create with you. To be your partner through all life's adventures. I promise you this from my heart, and for all the days of my life."

    then the rings

" I give you this ring as a symbol of our love. Let it forever be a reminder that I am always by your side, and I will always be your partner"

then the declaration of intent (required in our state)

Officiant "Name, before your family and friends, do you take Name as your beloved husband/wife to have and to hold, through laughter and in sadness, through challenges and successes, so long as you both shall live? I do

Then we did the kiss, and pronouncement. Whole thing start to finish lasted about 6 minutes lol.

We eloped just before the shelter in place started and I’ve posted the video before but here’s our highlight video:

Our ceremony was less than 10 minutes total.
