East Coast (on a Budget) Honeymoon Ideas

Erin, on July 10, 2019 at 9:46 AM Posted in Honeymoon 1 8

My fiance and I want to have a romantic and memorable honeymoon. We had originally wanted to do the whole all-inclusive Caribbean thing but it is unfortunately outside our budget. We live in North Carolina and would love to go somewhere we could road trip to or take a short flight to.

We were thinking of maybe renting a cabin in Boone, NC or maybe even staying on the coast in Williamsburg, VA.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a resort-like feel for an on-budget honeymoon?

I live in Virginia Beach and I would say that Williamsburg is a good option, plus there are a lot of activities to do in or around the area (Busch Gardens, winery, Colonial Williamsburg, 40 min from the Virginia Beach Oceanfront, 40 min from Richmond).

Other options on the East Coast that might be nice would be Charleston, SC or Even Savannah, GA.

I think it really depends on what you want - Charleston, Savannah, St. Augustine are all fun choices. H and I had a great time when we visited Boston together (of course in November that would be COLD). If you like the mountains you could do Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge.

I think we are leaning more and more to Williamsburg. Busch Gardens would be so fun! Any recommendations on wineries? Thank you for your reply!!

Https://cvwt.wpengine.com/ (the link to the wine tour)

The Williamsburg Winery is always great and has a "Wine Trail" that consists of 4 other wineries in the surrounding areas, which include:

    1) James River Cellars Winery

    2) Upper Shirley Vineyards

    3) New Kent Winery

    4) Saude Creek Vineyards

What about Asheville, NC? I traveled through there once and it looked so beautiful.

I agree with the NC coast!! You could fly into New Bern, NC and rent a car and take a few days driving/enjoying the coast.
