East Coast Honeymoon Destinations

Laura, on April 10, 2022 at 6:39 PM Posted in Honeymoon 2 3
Hello,

We are looking for suggestions of honeymoon destinations (traveling Sept. 26 - Oct. 2, 2022) that are within 8 hr driving distance from central NJ. We want to visit somewhere that is relaxing but will have some things to do together. We would prefer not to visit somewhere that is a seasonal type town where nothing is open on the off season.

We went to Saratoga Springs, NY that exact week of 2021 and had a great time. While the race track was closed the horse racing museum and hall of fame was open. There's also an automobile museum. There's the NY Military museum as well as the battleground of the Battle at Saratoga. There's a spa and lots of good restaurants and bars. We stayed at the Embassy Suites on Congress St which is right in the heart of downtown so a lot of it is walkable.

We were in Camden, ME the week of October 3rd-8th and had a great time. The schooners were still sailing, hiking was still good, and all the shops were still open and running

You might want to look at Block Island, RI. It's an island that honestly feels like you're in the Caribbean. Fire Island, off of LI and Newport, RI are also nice. Saratoga Springs, which was already mentioned is awesome too. Acadia National Park/Bar Harbor is a bit over 8 hours in Maine, is great if you want hiking. Lake George/the Adirondacks, the Catskills, and the Berkshires are other good mountain areas with hiking. Annapolis Maryland and Virginia Beach are also nice, and the weather there would be warmer than New England/NY.
