diy Invitations-someone please help me!

Amber, on January 25, 2020 at 11:22 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9
Ladies, I’m about to throw my laptop and Cricut out the window! I’m relatively tech savvy, but I just keep staring at my screen trying to figure out how to design/make invites on an 8.5x11 piece of cardstock. To clarify, I’m trying to fit 2 4x6ish on each page plus I need an RSVP and Details card in a smaller size.

Does anyone have a template I can use or suggest another program other than Word that I should try to use? I can’t get the margins right for 2 to print on one horizontal page and it’s driving me absolutely crazy! I’m attaching pictures of what I’m trying to do - I need the invite to fit/be glued on the left and the inserts to go in the pocket on the right. (I put this together using scrap paper -the real invites will be aqua, navy and white). Thank you to anyone who can help!diy Invitations-someone please help me! 1diy Invitations-someone please help me! 2

Hi! I recently got a Cricut and I'm also planning to use mine to make my invitations! Is the blue star part supposed to be a belly band to hold the invite together?

Yes, the starfish part is a belly band that holds the invite together.

Have you tried Esty? They have really cute invitations templates on there. The ones where you buy the templates handprint them at home. I have been bouncing back and forth between a few.

I made a Cricut template for you! It was really good practice for when I design pockets and belly bands for my invites Smiley smile

Oh! With the margin thing, if you just want to cut out 2 cards on 1 page, just make sure the wave piece isn't visible before you press "Make It". And then when you're in "Make It" mode, you can move each card piece to fit the paper on your mat by pressing "Edit" before you cut.

If you're trying to do Print then Cut and using Cricut Design Space, make sure that the text is attached to the 4x6 cutout.

Hi Grazielle - Thanks for making the template, but unfortunately you misunderstood what I was asking for. I already have the card, wave and belly band templates. I was looking for templates for the inserts to fit into those invites. I think I figured it out today, but there’s no way to make the printing and cutting part easy.

No worries! Yeah I realized my mistake after reading your original post again Smiley smile I think what I'd do is make/find a template then go to a print shop to get the inserts done (especially if it's elaborate or there's a lot of colored ink involved)
