Disposable Dinnerware?!?

Crystal, on March 29, 2019 at 12:40 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 9
Has anyone used the heavy duty disposable plates and other dinner and drink ware? We’re having a pretty big reception (175ish people) On a retired farm and we’re having a gyro bar and serving beer, wine and sangria. Has anyone used any like these and what did you think? Thanks!!!

We're planning to use heavy duty plastic disposable plates and cups - still undecided on silverware, which will depend on what entrees we choose. We're going with Hefty brand that we snagged on sale (now through April 7th!) at Costco. They're not quite as fancy as the plates you have pictured - they're white with a simple silver rim - but I think they'll be perfect for our buffet style distillery wedding. I haven't tested them with a crowd, but I did buy a test pack and had a meal on them with a real knife and fork - the plates felt super sturdy, and definitely held up to the silverware.

I'm buying these off of Amazon for our wedding. I love the lace look; itll look pretty with a burgundy tablecloth showing through. ❤

I wanted to use very similar plates because I love how they look & they match our colors & theme perfectly, but when I tried them they didn’t seem sturdy enough for a sit-down dinner 😭 I got them on Amazon. If you find any other ones that are sturdy & pretty, let me know! I will probably still use them for serving the cake, because I like them a lot.

Following this because I’m in the same boat! Our barn venue doesn’t have a full kitchen and we’re doing relaxed bbq buffet but I’d still like the tables to look nice with plates and flatware. I found a set of disposable plastic salad and dinner plates on amazon that were made to look like antique china and came in different colors but all the reviews and pictures showed that they crack while shipping so I don’t have much confidence in those Smiley sad

Same!!! but I think I might see if I can pick them up at an Amazon depot and hopefully not have the broken while shipped issue 🤞🏼

We are using biodegradable bamboo plates and silverwear! They are super sturdy and are wood so that will match your farm feel really well! They aren't too expensive either but feel a lot more "fancy" than the traditional plates.
