Agree with PP. Its best to reach out to the venue as pricing will depend on the catering you choose. Most venues/catering have different tiers of pricing.

Yes, I’ve contacted them a few times and haven’t heard back yet. I’m sure it has something to do with the stay at home order. I was hoping someone had the info on this forum until the DIA gets back to me.

Pricing starts around $15k on the weekends. They don’t include a ton either.

Right I noticed the rental prices just am trying to figure out the catering situation. I’m hoping it’s not like $50.00 a person per plate.

I would try to reach out to some former brides there to ask. Museums (especially art museums) generally have very strict rules about allowing only certain caterers to be used, as well as food and beverage minimums. I would be very skeptical if you could swing anything under than $150-$175 per plate plate there...but it doesn't hurt to ask. I got married at a museum (not in Detroit though), at a museum that was not even remotely as upscale at the Detroit Institute of the Arts and we had to pay around $225 per plate for the basic package, if I recall (this included the appetizers during cocktail hour and dessert though, but not the open bar). Anyway, I am very skeptical that you could do $50 a plate at a venue like this, but it certainly would not hurt to ask. Hopefully I'm wrong!
