We’re doing a dessert table. We liked the idea of different dessert options and people choosing what they wanted.


If you want to have the cake cutting moment captured, ask your venue or caterer. Our venue coordinator gave us the option of a small cutting cake if we wanted to do the traditional “cut the cake together” moment but that wasn’t super important to us.

I think it depends on the type of wedding you’re having. I personally love a dessert bar for guests. You can get a small one tier cake for you and your husband to cut and to save for the two of you, but giving your guests a variety of options is nice.
