delivery of gift bags for oot Guest!

Tamika, on August 17, 2019 at 8:22 AM Posted in Planning 0 19
I called the hotel where we are having the reception to see if they hand out the gifts at the front desk or place them in the rooms. She stated that they are placed in rooms prior to guest arrivals. The problem is they charge $5 per room. I'm over it! I feel like we put enough money into everything and it should be accommodated, did you have to pay a fee after you may your guest bags?

The hotels that we’ve looked at also charges a fee of $3. I’m pretty over it too. 99% of my guest are from OOT.

My hotel will hand them out at check in with no fee. Could they do that for you?

Our hotel didn't charge. The hotel was a small boutique hotel though.

My hotel told us when they sent a contract guaranteeing last year’s rates for our wedding this year ( since I set it up last year) that they have a $1 service charge to leave wedding welcome baskets (we provide) in each room. It’s not much I know, better than $5, but we already have 35 rooms booked and will probably hit 50 so that’s another $50. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Okay, so I just decided I'm going to dress up in our wedding colors. I will be at the hotel @3 and start paying them out. Or retrieve their room numbers and at front go to their rooms and deliver them.

Sorry for the typo, so I just said it that I will stand at the front desk dressed up in our wedding colors at 3 PM or at 4 PM retrieve their room numbers and then start passing them out at their doors.

Yeah, no. That’s a major security breach. No hotel will just hand over a rooming list.

Ours hands them out at check in for free. It was in the contract. I'd be frustrated too. You are giving them a significant amount of business.

I already have a list I'm waiting for the updated list. I used to work at a hotel years ago. They're my guest. Plus from the list I will just text them if they changed rooms so I can drop the bags off.

Mine charged $4/room and would not hand them out at the front desk; however, they had perks if I hit certain tiers/percentage of filling the block. One of those perks was putting the bags in the rooms for free. Maybe ask them if you fill like 60% of your block if they’ll waive the fee.

I think we're going to spend less than $5 a bag, so we definitely wouldn't do it if we had to pay per bag. Our hotel will pass then out at check in for free as long as they're all the same so they don't have to look for a certain name

Was planning to have my hotel hand them out since they are only charging $1 a bag but then I was thinking that people that aren’t staying at the hotel won’t get one so maybe I should treat them as favors and have them grab them as they leave the reception.
