Couples getting married on October 4, 2019 in Georgia

Tracee, on March 15, 2019 at 12:02 PM Posted in Georgia Planning 1 62

Hi date twins... I'm stressed about the wedding and I feel like it would be better talking to women going through the same thing! I'm sure my bridal party, fiance, and mother are all tired of hearing me complain even if they wont admit it. I also love knowing that we are all getting married on the same day and in the same state.

Hi there, we’re date twins! I’m also getting married October 4th, 2019! Super stressed as well, but I know everything will be perfect in the end... I’m definitely not a traditional bride, I would love to hear about your wedding and where you’re at in the planning!

Hi Sinead... I just feel like I am always complaining or whining about feeling stressed and I'm sure they are over it! I'm over it but if having an amazing wedding day means I have to stay a little stressed these next couple of months then I guess that's what has to happen. I stopped just coming to the site and actually joined because I really wanted to connect with other women during the planning process!

I'm going to the go look through the discussions you sent and find some new wedding friends. Thank you!

Hey Lindsey! I am honestly trying to keep myself sane during this process and I should be a lot calmer because I got engaged in Aug 2017, so I've had plenty of time to get it together. I think it was too much time but we are paying for this wedding ourselves and I want it to be exactly what we want. When I check things off of my list it appears that I don't have a lot to do as I have all of the big stuff out of the way (dress, venue, photographer/videographer, dj, makeup, flowers and décor). I'm the opposite, I want to be a traditional bride but make some things a little more modern. I'm still trying to figure out my vision for the day but my colors are navy, gold, wine, and dusty rose as an accent. I want the ambiance of my wedding day to be full of warmth, love, great food and unlimited alcohol (lol). I also want my mother to give me away but I may walk down the aisle alone. I still need invitations, engagement photos, hair, photo booth, and a hotel!

Tell me about your day? Have you decided on a honeymoon destination? That's also causing me anxiety...

Hi Devin... I thought I replied to this the other day, sorry! Planning is driving me up a wall but I think I'm causing myself more anxiety than what's actually necessary. I've taken on the task to plan my sister baby shower in the midst of planning my wedding and I want that day to be beautiful for her because it's her first baby. It's this Sat so I'll be able to breath again after; however, this month alone I will have attended a housewarming, baby shower, and bridal shower. I need a drink and a nap! Once all the activities are over I'll be able to focus on me again. How's planning going for you?

Girl you are doing great! I should make you feel a whole lot better about where you're at, lol! Kinda similar to you I've had a longer engagement, we got engaged October 2017, so we will be getting married exactly 2 years from our engagement weekend but 2019 is flying by and so freaking me out. I'm planning from out of state, we live in Florida but from Atlanta so we are getting married at the Ventana's in downtown Atlanta, and we are beyond obsessed with our venue. It is very us, we love the modern, industrial look and rooftop vibes. We are also paying for almost the entire thing by ourselves, with just a little bit of help (which is so greatly appreciated) from his mom. We are on the same page of wanting it to be exactly what we want though, I am beyond picky to a fault...get this, I don't have my dress yet! I have researched and gone to probably 7 dress places and I can't find anything I even remotely like (So yes, freaking out about this). We have the DJ, photographer/videographer and that's about it...We're flying up there March 29th and hoping to do some cake tastings but so much to do!!!

Love your color theme it's definitely one of my favorites I saw while looking at stuff on Pinterests, we are doing black and white, with some gold. I will be walking myself down the aisle, that's crazy that you are considering this, I haven't met anyone who's done this.

Honeymoon, ugh, definitely huge stressor too! We would love to go to Greece, but reality check is this just isn't in the cards right now, I hate that I'm even considering this but we may have to put off our honeymoon til 2020, for budget purposes and just life outside of wedding planning has been a little crazy this year. Possibly going to the Bahamas and staying at the Atlantis, I know it's kind of basic, but it truly has everything we need and I'm sure we would have a blast. We have our whole life to travel around the world. Where are you considering?

OMG THANK YOU! I do have a lot done but 2019 is flying by and we both will be getting married a lot sooner than later. It is so exciting talking to someone who is getting married the same day and literally up the street from us. We are getting married at The Piedmont Room and actually went and looked at Ventana’s as well. See it wasn’t meant for us to get married there because it was supposed to be your venue. I absolutely loved the city view the venue offers and the exact reasons you described but it just didn’t feel like us, you know! It's so crazy because we are paying for this ourselves too and I've had people tell me that "only people who aren't sure, wait so long to get married," rude as hell! I love my hus"bae" and buying a house and getting married were our goals so we waited and saved for both!

Girl, you better get it together and find a dress you love (they are going to make you buy something right off the rack) and so many butts will have been in your dress if you have to buy it that way, lol. You have to let me know who you choose for cake, we went on one cake tasting with For Goodness Cakes and the cake was good but I know there has to be better options. I honestly feel like all of the really popular cake places (that I see everyone using) really don’t have good cake. I’ve tried two others but they weren’t official cake tastings. If Publix made nicer cakes I would go with them. The red velvet is amazing!

Expedia has really great prices for Greece in October. The Bahamas isn’t basic, its sun, sand, and not the house! That’s all I want. We are considering Aruba, Barbados, and the Bahamas.

We have our venue which includes catering, cake & booze, my dress, BM dresses and hma booked and that’s about it. I’m talking with a photographer today. We have a huge event in May that we are super busy with the preparations for so wedding planning is taking a backseat till the end on May then it’s full steam ahead.
We’re thinking of doing a mini-moon in the north Ga mts for a few day then moving all my stuff to Florida from Atlanta. We are thinking of doing a full honeymoon in February when our vacation time resets.

    Tracee!!!

It's crazy how much our stories align! I read my fiancé our brief conversation and he couldn't believe it either...lol...We we're one hundred percent having our wedding at the Piedmont room on October 4th, working with Lauren, but there were a few minor details in the contract that I just couldn't get passed. We backed out last minute after we told her we we're ready to sign, so crazy! We ended up signing the same exact terms and conditions that I couldn't get passed at the Ventana's, lol...You're wedding will be absolutely beautiful there, especially with your color scheme, and I do feel it is such a warm and romantic environment! I'm so glad we didn't sign that contract so you can have your perfect day there! I will have to see pictures!

Also,,, we are flying to Atlanta Friday and going to have a cake tasting at For Goodness Cakes next Tuesday. Really disappointed to hear it was ok, I kinda had a feeling it's hard to have it all in the cakes world. Let me know if you find anything that you really like, it's so hard not being there, well just make sure they can do multiple wedding cakes on the same day before letting me know so I don't get my hopes up. Smiley winking

Just booked my Photo Booth, we went with Hipstr company for Photo Booth , but heard great things about Shutterbooth, they reached out but I had already signed my other contract.

I know you said that you've already booked your decor and flowers, just curious, with your decor and flowers did you book those together or separate? This is a major stressor to me, some vendors do it all inclusive and some everything is so separate.

    You're doing awesome girl!

Lindsey… ok, so I asked my fiancé about the cake again from For Goodness Cakes and he was like “aren’t we getting our cake from there.” He said the strawberry cake was really good and that’s what he wanted (I had no idea). I want red velvet! So maybe some of the flavors are better than I remember, we did do the cake tasting last summer. I really want to try some others as I know cake, food, and music are like the most important things!

I am doing a photo booth also as I want that to be there wedding favor… I am not in the business of wasting money and people eventually throw away old wedding favors but people keep pictures! I haven’t decided who I am going with yet but I can’t afford anymore down payments until May so I still have some time to research that and day of coordinators.

I used le bam studios for décor and flowers and she is all inclusive. I was grateful to find out that this was an option because I now don’t have to worry about several different vendors. When it came to booking vendors for me, I really only interviewed one vendor and then booked. Now, I looked at multiple venues and talked to a few coordinators but that stressed me. I tried to do as much research before setting up a consultation. I met with one photographer/videographer, officiant, only le bam studio for decor and flowers, my DJ works as a teacher at the school I work at, and I booked my makeup for myself and bridesmaids after several emails and stalking bforbeaute.co IG for months. I feel like this is the only reason I am so far along. I couldn’t imagine meeting with several different vendors for everything and I feel like I've gotten really lucky with our current vendors...

Are you having an evening wedding? How many in your bridal party?

I've had so many events this month and I'm so happy that the month is almost over as my brain is fried! How did the conversation with the photographer go the other day? Did you book?

Deciding on a honeymoon destination is also driving me insane ...

    Month is almost over with!
What are your thoughts on honeymoon? 1 week or longer? Beach? No beach?
FH really wants to go to Maldives so that’s longer then a week trip so that’s why we are waiting till our vacation time resets at the first of the year.
I like the photographer, FH will be back in town this weekend so I’ll show him her portfolio. We have a friend that does amazing wedding photos but she’s expensive so we are still considering price between the two.

Yes, I bought my dress last year in July from Impressions Bridal in Kennesaw and picked it up in November I think. I took my dress to my sisters house so that I wouldn't be tempted to try it on every other day. Now there are days when I ask myself if I'm still in love with my dress and I go look at pictures of it and I fall in love all over again!!! I really can't wait to wear it ...

I've been considering Aruba and Barbados since we are getting married in October but I really wanted to go to Riveria Maya. I don't want anything less than 1 week...we took a trip to Punta Cana a few years ago and stayed a week and it allows just enough time to do everything without feeling rushed. Can you tell me what FH stands for? I know fiancé but the H throws me off, lol. (Now watch I feel stupid for not knowing when you tell me)

I searched on Expedia for trips to Bali, Phuket, Maldives, and Greece but I can't do a 20+ hour flight and I only have a week. I would need to maybe try for one of those over the summer months since I'm don't work summers. Oh and they have great prices for the places during the month of October! Now if we were willing to wait until my Thanksgiving break that would give us more time and we could consider going farther but my fiancé convinced me that we should go right after the wedding.

Are you doing video as well? Is that included in the price? Ours included both and we are paying around $4500 and when I looked at it separately some videographers were asking for over $4000 without anything else. Weddings are too expensive!

Weddings are soooo expensive. It’s crazy, but we pay so it will always be $$. I haven’t thought about video yet. We’ll have to see if it’s something we want.

    I found my dress!!!!!

I feel so much less stress knowing that it will be here and not worrying about buying off the rack! I also bought my shoes! YAY! Still have a lot to do to catch up with you, but I feel like I had an accomplishing weekend lol.

We are doing guest arrival at 6 and they can grab a drink if they want and ceremony starts at 6:30, I was really worried this was to early, but sunsets at 7:18 so I wanted sometime to get pretty rooftop pics.

5 bridesmaids, they are all going to be wearing formal black dresses, but I want the necklines to be all different, like one shoulder, strapless, off the shoulder, halter, and spaghetti strap...I'm letting them pick them out (with my approval). The guys will all be wearing a tux, have you started working on this yet? How many do you have in your bridal party? Have you sent out save the dates??
