Couples getting married on November 27, 2020

Ashley, on November 4, 2019 at 8:10 PM Posted in Planning 1 58

Hello all! Smiley heart

Thought I would start a discussion for all us 11/27/2020 couples! I would love to get to know you all and support each other during the wedding planning process. Here is a little bit about myself and my fiance:

Bride: Ashley

Groom: Tanner

Our story: We began dating during our senior year of high school on 03/27/2015 (hence our connection to the 27th)

Location: Colorado

Colors: Dusty blue and Evergreen

Theme: Mountain rustic (lots of greenery like pinecones, evergreen tree branches, and wood chunks)

We just decided on a venue, but other than venue, my dress, and our wedding party, everything else is still in the planning process. Hoping everyone's planning is going smoothly, I know how stressful it can get at times. Just know we are here for you all! Smiley heart

Hey Ashley!! Thanks so much for sharing!

I'm sure your date twins will find you soon!

What made you and your FH choose your wedding date? Does it hold any special significance? 😃

    Thanks Sinead! Smiley heart

We chose our date for two reasons:

    1) We started dating on the 27th of March and do something special like a dinner date or a stay-at-home movie date on the 27th of every month so we wanted to keep that tradition

    2) My dad is active duty Air Force and is currently stationed in South Korea so I wanted to pick a date I knew he could 100% make which was the day after Thanksgiving because he'll have that week off

It was the perfect date and we are definitely counting down all 387 days until it arrives! Smiley ring

This is exactly what I'm looking for. I wanted to ask. Is anyone nervous about the day after Thanksgiving black Friday wedding date? Do you think most guests will attend? Are you worried at all? Have you ever attended a black friday wedding?

I'm personally not worried or nervous about having our wedding the day after Thanksgiving/on Black Friday. We are having a smaller wedding (80 guest max) so it doesn't bother us if some people we invited aren't able to come because of the holiday weekend. If guests can't come, it's not because of Black Friday, it would be because it's the day after Thanksgiving. Plus, since 90% of our guests are family, we know that they would be more than happy to spend their Thanksgiving weekend celebrating us becoming one big family. I've never attended a wedding the day after Thanksgiving, but that's only because no one I know has gotten married in any season other than Spring and Summer. Haha

Hi! My name is Ali, my fiancé’s name is Paddy. I’m a 11/27/20 bride too!
We chose Black Friday because my fiancé is a teacher and most of our friends are teachers and will have off for the day. We are inviting 200 people, 130 of which will be coming from out of town, which has me worried that people won’t be able to make it. I tried to make the ceremony as late as possible to give people time to get up here. We are also having the rehearsal dinner as thanksgiving dinner which I’m super excited about!

    Hey Ali!

Congratulations on your engagement! I'm so excited to have another Black Friday bride to talk to throughout the planning process!

200 people is a little over double my guest count, but it'll be so perfect for the holiday weekend! I'm also doing a big rehearsal/Thanksgiving dinner where we are inviting all our guests! Are you going to have it at a restaurant or do a pot-luck (might be hard with the majority of your guests coming from out of town though)?

Your colors are gorgeous! Will that part of NY have snow around Thanksgiving?

    Hi Everyone!

My name is Kelcee and My fiance's name is Nathan. We are getting married on November 27th, 2020 as well! We picked this date because it is our anniversary, we will be getting married on our 5 year anniversary Smiley heart . We also thought it would be helpful for our families as everyone's children will be on Thanksgiving break. We are getting married in Oregon. Our wedding is Harry Potter themed!! We have our venue, my dress, our wedding army (bridal party), and are actively booking our photographer. We are currently talking with a few different caterers as well. I feel like there is a light at the end of tunnel! Hope everyone's planning is progressing well despite COVID-19. Stay safe out there!

    Ashley!
We are doing our rehearsal dinner at a fire station hall, that has its own bar and bartender, my future mother-in-law will be making some turkeys and then the rest of the food will be catered.
NY sometimes has snow at that time and sometimes doesn’t.

    Hi Aly!
I'm a gryffindor and my fiance is a hufflepuff Smiley smile we are very excited to start working on decor and how we are going to tie in all our ambitious ideas (like hanging candles from a gym ceiling). If we can pull it off, it will be epic!

How is everyone’s planning going? Are you guys still going as planned?! Hopefully everything will be ok as we just opened up to phase two so I am really hopeful and riding this out until the venue tells me I have to postpone....

I'm going full steam ahead still! I've gotten so much done during quarantine so in that manner, it's been a blessing. We have all our vendors booked, my bridal shower and bachelorette party are happening in July and everything for those is taken care of, our honeymoon is booked, and now I just have to finish making all our wedding favor candles! We are going ahead as if everything will be perfect by the time our wedding rolls around, no sense worrying ourselves over what's 6 months away. If push comes to shove, we just reduce our wedding guest count.

Wow! I didn’t think it would be a big wedding date, but looks like I was wrong LOL.

I am having the hardest time finding someone to do my hair and makeup on that day.

I love the rustic theme I am doing the same thing. Love pinecones and tree slices and mountain views and earthy colors. That is my plan too.

    Hey everyone!!

Has your groom found his suit yet? My fiance hasn't yet due to covid closures, I'm hoping Men's Wearhouse will open very soon! I don't know how long it takes for the groomsmen suits to be put together. Anyone have any ideas how long it takes? I hope it isn't as long as a wedding dress!! Not sure if we should start looking at other companies at this point or not.
    153 days and counting!Happy Planning!- Kelcee ⚡

I didn't think it'd be too popular either! Loving having other brides to talk with!

I lucked out on my hair and makeup. My sister is a makeup artist and my best friend is a hair wizard! Haha

I haven't even thought about this. Haha My fiance already owns the suit he's going to wear and all our groomsmen are just renting theirs so there isn't much turn around time for them.
