Congrats to you all! Is Cali your current home or will this be a destination wedding for anyone? Was it easy to choose your venues?

    Hello Jo!
Los Angeles is my current home actually, and the venue that I ultimately picked was based on word of mouth, I had already put down a deposit for another venue and a restaurant owner here highly recommended it 😊🤗

Congratulations! You’re on top of it! Have you done your engagement shoot already? What are you working on next?
We have booked our photographer, videographer, and hair and make up. We are researching floral and DJs currently. I will feel a lot more relaxed once those two things are booked. Our venue does the catering and linens. We have the tasting the last weekend of September. It’s all coming together!!

Yes, we did our engagement shoot! I'm a teacher and one of my student's mom is a photographer and gifted me with the shoot Smiley smile Most of our guests are coming from out of the country so we wanted to get the pics done early to send our Save the Dates out early so people have time to book flights. We just got the Save the Dates in the mail from Minted so will send those out this week!

Yes, booking the photographer and hair/make up takes a big weight off your shoulders! Our venue also does the catering and linen which is a big relief!

That's exciting your tasting is so soon! Ours isn't until 6 months before.
After our Save the Dates are sent out we're going to take a break from wedding planning for a bit, aside from Honeymoon research (we're planning on Tahiti and Bora Bora)!

That’s awesome! We are planning our engagement shoot for this fall and looking at minted too!

You will love Bora Bora! We went there last summer. It’s so amazing! Try to start your scuba diving certification before you go. I did the online class and pool portion less than a month before I went. I did my training dives in Bora Bora and saw 10 feet manta rays my first dive! We went through Diveasy at Le Meridien. It’s so beautiful and relaxing there! Make sure you bring your own emergency kit (band aids, medications, etc) because it’s pretty limited unless you take the ferry to the main island. Poisson cru is delicious (raw tuna in coconut milk). Last thing, I got bit by mosquitos a lot so bring lots of bug spray, citronella candles, etc. So excited for you!!

Hi ladies, we're getting married in Chino at the Planes of Fame Air museum. I'm in nursing school right now and working so I seem not to have a ton of time for planning. So my breaks is when the majority of our planning will take place. Planning on trying on gowns in November. I love tacos and he loves burgers so we are thinking about having 2 food trucks, then a soft serve ice cream truck; it's August which is crazy hott our ceremony will be out side so I'm thinking of renting a tent to put outside but not 100% sure or maybe have it inside at a separate location... We are doing a 1920's theme.
    Happy Planning Ladies!!!!

A 1920s theme sounds so fun! How did you choose that? I love the food trucks! Our venue does the catering. We are going to do a bbq buffet!

Yes, the prices in California are very different from most states. The California forums have a lot of good insight into what’s “normal” here.

Hi! Planning is going well! Working on the wording for our invites. I am thinking of sending them out about 6-8 weeks prior to the wedding. Our wedding is destination so most people already know if they’re going or not since they booked their hotel accommodations. Also my FH will probably have to reach out to most of his friends for their RSVP. I am guessing we won’t find out and hear from everyone by the rsvp deadline.
Other than invites, I am shopping for accessories for my dress like shoes and veil. My FH has an appointment to go get suits with his groomsmen. It’s mostly little details. I am keeping an eye out for a cute card box. My bridal shower is this weekend! We are almost down to 100 days! It’s so exciting!

    Hi there!

I haven't been posting on WW very much but recently started getting more involved.

My FH and I are having a short engagement (5 1/2) months total and we have almost everything done. Just need to send out the invites and am planning to do that right around the 4th of July. We are getting married at our church in Lancaster, CA and are having a brunch wedding from 10:00-2:00 then taking a mini-moon cruise the day after. Can't wait, we are almost in the double digit count down!

Thank you! We are doing the 4 day Catalina/Ensenada cruise out of Long Beach. Since we live in So Cal so it will only take us about 2 1/2 hours to drive to the cruise port. I have been on a cruise in the Bahamas before but FH has never cruised. I talked him into getting the Junior Suite so we can have a balcony! I am very much looking forward to it
