I'm getting married in 4 weeks, and this is my timeline Monday: If you don't live in Vegas, need to fill out some paperwork at the county clerk a head of time. Call your county clerk to find out specifically what you need. Night before: Dinner hosted by his mom. Night before: Slumber bachalorett Party. Gonna give each other mani pedies, watch movies and sleep on the floor of the living room like we're middle schoolers Day of: 10:30 AM hair and make up at the mall. Noon: Frappe for lunch so I don't touch my make up 1:00 venue opens for vendors and wedding party to set up 2:00 I put on my dress 2:30 Practice Processional and Reccesional order 3:45 guests and photographer show up 4:10 Processional 4:40 cocktail hour & family photos 5:30 first dance 5:40 Hora 5:50 father daughter 6:00 dinner 6:30 Best Person speach 6:45 sun set pics (will be later in August) 7:00 desert set out (hamantaschen cause we're getting married on Purim) 7:10 dance floor opens 9:00 party over 9:00 cards, chuppah and guest book are collected my mom. everything else thrown out. 10:00 bonfire afterparty at the hotel Monday: go to town clerk to get your marrage certificate. If you have a day of coordinator, they would be a great resource for creating a timeline! If you're putting the timeline together yourself, working backwards will help you form a rough idea of the schedule: what time do you need to be out of the reception venue by? How many hours do you get to use the reception venue for? For example, if the venue requires you to be out by midnight, and your reception will last for 6 hours, that puts you at 6pm. If you're doing a cocktail hour, that means the ceremony needs to be over by 5pm. How long will your ceremony take? If you anticipate that it will last 30 minutes, plan to start the ceremony at either 4 or 4:15, just to build in some extra time in case things run behind. If you're doing a first look and photos before the ceremony, talk to your photographer on what their time estimate looks like for those photos, so that you can figure out what time you need to be ready by. From there, you can coordinate with your hair and makeup vendors to plan start times based on that timing.
