Cotton Candy Bouquet

Megan , on January 17, 2019 at 5:32 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12
I just saw an article about brides using cotton candy bouquets. I am in love with the idea- but wondering how to execute the whole thing. When do you make the cotton candy? Will it melt? I need some pros and cons of this uniquely sweet idea.

    Yuuuuum!
Con: I would eat the bouqet before walking down the aisle
Pro: I get to eat cotton candy!

Had to make that joke! In all seriousness, where would you even get something like that? Are the brides DIY and making cotton candy? I would think you’d have to do it the night before and maybe put it in the fridge or something then create the “flowers” day of? If you’re having a summer wedding or somewhere notoriously hot, I’d be scared it would melt or the shape would fall.

is there like “flower tubes” that you can stuff cotton candy or candy sugar in instead? That would be a cool idea.

I would make it right before, just because it's SO sticky and so delicate.

I've never seen this but a big con is that if it gets wet from the rain then it'll be gone. For me it wouldn't make it to the wedding since I would have eaten it by then.

It'll also be gone if it gets too hot. It's a cool idea but I would be worried about it melting and getting on my dress or just getting my fingers sticky

Our inspiration is coming directly from our venue- it’s a vibrant and super eclectic brewery. Lots of bright colors. So we are trying to keep the decorations minimal, while trying to tie in the yellows, blues, and oranges that blanket the brewery walls.

All I can think is how sticky they would be.

We make cotton candy at home. If you’re seriously considering it first you need practice bechase it takes time to get it right. Also the little table top ones only do about 5 before they need a rest time. They won’t look pretty long before they start deflating. I seen the same article and the picture was super cute but they definitely made thay right before the picture was snapped

I'm not a big cotton candy connoisseur but is the pre-bagged stuff acceptable? That seems like it would be the easiest to me...take it out of the bag minutes before the ceremony and stick it onto some kind of stick for you to hold on to. If it deflated before pics you could just open a fresh bag.

Does the brewery have a cotton candy machine and would they be willing to make them? I think this is such a cool idea. And something they could whip up a replacement for real quick if something went wrong. You can rent the machines as well. Or maybe you could find a vendor that could come to the wedding. Not only would they make yours, they could make it for the guests as well.

I agree that the bagged candy might be easier to use, but it wouldn't have the fluff and fun of the kind you make yourself.

    Such a fun idea!
