Commitment Ceremony in Myrtle Beach

lewisking, on June 29, 2009 at 11:12 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 3

I am trying to plan a small commitment ceremony in Myrtle Beach from 1500 miles away. Any suggestions on where to start? We want to get married on the beach.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I'm not planning a destination wedding, but we started out doing one, so I can tell you where to start Smiley winking. First step is your budget and your guest list. Your budget affects all other aspects of planning, and can cause the most fights, so make sure both you and your partner are both comfortable with the amount you will be spending. Come up with some ideas about style (formal, casual, carrying on the beach theme) - this site has an inspiration board function where you can compile pictures of different things to help keep your thoughts more organized. Once you have those things knocked out, start looking for a venue and a planner if you're going with one. I know there are a lot of resorts in Myrtle Beach, and most resorts offer wedding packages. There is also a checklist on this site to help keep your timeline running smoothly. Good luck, and hope this helps!

Depending on your budget you may want to check out Breakers resort & hotel. My cousin was married there a couple of years ago. They were going to have it on the beach but a huge rain storm came through that day so they moved it inside. Regardless, it was beautiful. Beyond that, there are a TON of little businesses in MB that just do beach weddings. (FH & I were living in Myrtle Beach when we started planning)

Check out this page on the MB website: http://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/play/weddings_and_honeymoons.html

Also Googling "myrtle beach weddings" brought up a number of those little businesses I was talking about.

    Good luck!
