Colorado Mini Moon?

Brianna, on January 5, 2019 at 7:31 PM Posted in Honeymoon 1 3
Has anyone gone to Colorado for a honeymoon? My fiancée and I can’t take a long vacation after the wedding so we are thinking of doing a minimoon to Colorado after the wedding because it’s just a quick 2 hour flight away and looks beautiful. I would love some advice on where to stay and what to do here Smiley smile

Colorado is the best! What type of trip do you want? My FH and I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt in Denver and it was lovely. Just walking around the city of Denver you’ll find so much to do. The Market is a great local place for lunch and we love D-bar for late night snacks! We did some hiking at Garden of the Gods park in Colorado Springs too. One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been to

I want to go to the Garden of the Gods so bad! When I was in Colorado a few years back, I had a great time in Ouray! It's a smaller town about seven, eight thousand feet about sea level. They've got a great donut place and hot springs that are open year round, from what I remember.

There's also a wolf sanctuary in the state, I think it's around Denver, where you can go and live out your (my) Game of Thrones dream by hanging out with the wolves and like petting and touching them. Smiley smile

Yay Colorado! We live here (my fiance his whole life and me for the past 6 years) and we are getting married outside of Denver. May is hard in Colorado, especially in northern Colorado. We graduated in May of 2017 and had an outdoor graduation party. The weather was amazing, high 60s during the day and low 50s at night. The VERY next weekend, we got 6 inches of snow and stores/schools/work all cancelled. So just be aware of that. What are you looking for in a mini-moon? Denver is fun, lots of restaurants & nice hotels & shopping plus you have the Broncos, Nuggets & Rockies stadiums nearby as well as the Denver Zoo. Hot springs can be really romantic, and there are a ton with resorts in Colorado: Steamboat Springs, Glenwood Springs, etc. Mountain towns are fun too, and you probably can get better deals since May is during the off season: Steamboat Springs, Breckenridge, Keystone, Aspen, etc. Mountain/Ski towns are smaller so not as much to do, and usually a drive to the nearest airport, but they are super cute and still have restaurants and activities. Fort Collins is a great brewery town with a ton of restaurants downtown. Boulder is fancier, with lots of food & art & hiking! If you want to go South, I suggest Telluride or Ouray (both are stunning).
