Colorado Brides

Ashley, on December 18, 2019 at 5:22 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 2 16

Welcome to all my Colorado brides that are either natives, having destination weddings, or chose to live in the beautiful state! Smiley heart

Thought having this discussion would be a great way for us to all bounce ideas off of each other, give advice, or suggest vendors. We're all in this together!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! We got married in Larkspur (south of Denver) on July 20, 2019. Here are the vendors we used:

Venue - The Venue at Crooked Willow Farms (included venue use, bridal suite, groom's suite, photo booth, bar and beer donkey)

    DJ - Springs Sounds Entertainment

    Caterer - Footers Catering

    Baker - The Dessert Stand

Hair & Makeup - Brides by Rosanne

    Florist - Sara Mica Designs

Month of Coordinator - The Perfect Moment (Samantha Rotter)Transportation - A Ride in Luxury

    Dress - Blue Bridal

    Suits - GenTux

    Officiant - Pastor Jason McBride

    Photographer - Callie Riesling Photography

    Videographer - Foster Creative

If we did it over again, we would 100% use our photographer, DJ, venue, hair & makeup, caterer, baker, suits, officiant again. We haven't received our video back (supposed to at the end of January) so I can't speak to them. We would look further for DOC, florist, transportation & dress because we weren't SUPER impressed with those vendors. We also blocked the Marriott Denver South Park Meadows and we would probably pick a different hotel. We used Hacienda for our rehearsal dinner, they were great.

Congratulations on your marriage! You're photos are stunning and that donkey is just too cute! Smiley love

We are getting married in Estes Park so our vendors are completely different since it's so much further away. Haha So far, these are the vendors we've picked:

    Venue: Della Terra Mountain Chateau

    DJ: Performance Entertainment

    Caterer: Jubilations Catering

    Photographer: The Summit Photography

    Florist: Paul Wood Florists

    Dress: The Bridal Collection

Baker: my best friend/matron of honor and me

Make-up Artist: my sister/matron of honor

Hair Stylist: my best friend/matron of honor

    Officiant: my Uncle

And everything else is TBD, but I know we for sure aren't having a videographer since our DJ takes drone footage for us.

Thank you so much! Awesome, Estes Park will be so fun. We had a friend get married at that same venue almost 10 years ago. It's so pretty! They had it in the winter too, their pictures are amazing.

YES!! I'm honestly most excited about the photos because we're both winter people and love the snow so we're crossing our fingers that it snows during our ceremony!

We’re getting married in Rocky Mountain National Park and having our reception probably at a vacation rental in Estes Smiley smile. We live near Denver; and it’s way to big of a trek for the morning of (Especially with most of our guests coming from out of state)

Erin I'm with you on that! We live in Lakewood, west of Denver so we are going up the day before our wedding so we don't have to worry about traveling up to Estes Park the day of our wedding. Of our 85 guests, only 10 live in Colorado (most are in Colorado Springs and Fort Collins) so on our accommodations page for our website, we are including some vacation rentals as options.

Most of our guests are traveling from Vermont, New Jersey, Virginia, and Florida haha. I suspect one of my aunts (if she goes) will try to draw attention to herself by fainting (she's a bit of an attention seeker) so I'm going to make sure there is plenty of water available so there's no excuse xD. We're in Broomfield, near Westminster Smiley smile

Oh geez. Smart of you to ensure that everything that prevents fainting is available so she doesn't have any excuses. I'll keep my fingers crossed she doesn't even attempt or think of attempting something like that at your wedding. It's your special day, she shouldn't be the center of attention. She had her time. Hahaha

She fainted and got admitted to the hospital while we were all in the hospital visiting my grandmother on her death bed, so I wouldn't put anything past her. Most of the family is pretty good at ignoring her tricks by now though.

Yikes! Some people and their antics. Smiley ups I'm so sorry for your loss though and am glad your family is aware of her tricks and ignoring them. It definitely helps to have your family on your side regarding her behaviors.

Hello all!! Congratulations on your engagements! I’m getting married in Lyons at the Riverbend!! We have a lot of our vendors picked out but one I’m struggling with is transportation. Is anyone using or heard of any good companies to use for the guests? (Ours would be from Boulder to Lyons)

I appreciate any help or advice CO brides!!!

We used A Ride in Luxury. We rented a getaway car (bride & groom), two one way 14 person buses for bridesmaids & groomsmen to the venue, and two 55 person buses both ways from hotel to venue for guests. The getaway car & 14 person buses were awesome, perfectly on time, great service, super clean, etc. One of the 55 person buses was great, but one took I-25 (instead of Highway 105 like I requested) and they got stuck behind an accident & they were 45 minutes late. I know they can't prevent the accident or traffic, but no one relayed to the drivers that I practically begged them to take 105. They sent us a $50 gift card apology. The company did outsource the two larger buses.

Hey Erin! I'm very curious about your vacation rental idea Smiley smile We will be eloping in Europe and then having a small reception when we get back. Problem is, I don't want to pay for a huge venue when there will only be about fifty people.

How's your vacation rental plan going? Are you using Airbnb, Vrbo, or something else? This would be the perfect plan for us too, if we can figure out how to get it to work!

I’ve found a few options. I’ve looked on Airbnb as well as just looked up vacation rentals in the specific area we want and found some other private companies that rent out properties. Typically, when you put in the dates you want, it gives you the total amount it’ll cost with tax, and you can split that up based on how many people you plan to have staying in it, and have everyone give their share and book the house.

It gives us a place to have our reception, and get ready, without having to shell out a ton of extra money. The one I found would break down to about $172/person for a 3 night stay at a time when the nearby hotels are charging $200/night.
