Color combo too dark for a Beach Wedding?

Amber, on September 15, 2019 at 1:28 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
I’ve been going back and forth on colors for the wedding and would appreciate some unbiased opinions! I love anything beachy and aqua/teal are my favorite colors. We’re getting married on a beach in Mexico the first weekend of May. Do you think this color combo of Navy (groomsmen) and Teal (bridesmaids) is too dark for a spring beach wedding? These colors are Marine and Oasis from David’s Bridal, but I also found a lighter/brighter shade on Azazie. I’m having trouble visualizing these colors together and haven’t found this color combo on Pinterest. Thoughts?

I love the second color from David’s Bridal. If you go with the darker colored dress you can use bright tropical colors in your bouquets and I think it will pop nicely.

I agree with Cassie. I prefer the darker teal, and it’s a more flattering color. I think pops of color in the bouquets would be awesome.

If you're worried about it being too dark you could always have the guys wear blue pants and just shirts, or have them in light gray.

I love the second color and actually have that mixed with darker blues in my home. They go together so well. I don't think it would be too dark at all. I also agree that lightening up the color scheme with flowers might give you the look you're searching for.

I don’t think any color is too dark as long as you lighten it up with your florals. I’m using this cobalt dress in June for a beach wedding and we are using mostly white florals with pops of coral.

You can have any color you want, really! A lighter color might be more comfortable heat-wise though!

I like the second color the best. But any of them could work. Just get some bright, tropical flowers to bring some color to them, and ask if they’ll get a beachy hairstyle and makeup. Really you could do any color dress. I would more worry about the fabric, as in a satin dress is going to look ridiculous compared to a lighter material such as chiffon. Some will also be hotter and won’t breathe, which could lead to lots of sweating!
