Cocktail Hour Drink Selections

Taylor, on May 10, 2021 at 4:49 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 6
For my cocktail hour, we are utilizing our venue's outdoor trailer tavern. They recommended having just 4 selections since it's small and they can't stock everything in it. We'd like to domestic beers and/or well drinks for the trailer tavern, and if people want something else, they can go inside to the larger bar.

Any suggestions on what 4 drinks to pick? What has been the most popular at the weddings you've been to?!

What do your guests drink? Beer, wine, rum, vodka, tequila, whiskey? Will they have options for mixers?

What one group drinks has no bearing on someone else’s. Ask your vips what they prefer and go from there.

To answer your question, ours will drink rum (frozen fruity) and whiskey with mixers but will only drink beer or wine if absolutely nothing else is available, including nonalcoholic drinks.

I’d pick 3 beers and a signature cocktail if that’s an option.

It's a know your crowd type of answer most of our family drink's beer and whisky a few only drink wine. however, I am a fru fru drink person and if that is not available then I will go for whisky or rum straight I will do a soda pop over beer and wine,

If you have a diverse crowd then I would go for diverse drink options. From what I understood of your post, you are having a drink station with 4 options and then a full bar as well. If that is the case then I would go with 1 IPA, 1 lager or other light beer, one liquor drink, and one soda/non-alcoholic option. If you want wine, substitute any of the first 3 options for wine.

Definitely a "know your crowd" kind of question. Some people think it's not a really party without BudLight or PBR while others expect both red and white wine. Each social group and/or region has a different expectation and preference. Personally, my family drinks Yuengling. 🤷‍♀️

Non alcoholic beverages (sodas, bottled water, tea, lemonade, punch, etc) should be offered regardless of whatever your 4 alcohol choices are. Many vendors do not count them toward the bar options.

I would do red wine, white wine, domestic beer, and one cocktail. I think you'd cover the widest range of preferences that way and the majority of people will be able to have something they like at the outside bar.
