I find for myself personally that it's better to go by how I feel and how my clothes fit. Your weight can fluctuate throughout the day, and also when you workout you will also begin to build muscle. If people are noticing that you look good, and you feel good, don't worry about the number on the scale.

The scale is the worst! It does not tell if you if it fat or muscle. If you are working out, you are likely gaining muscle. I actually often see the scale go up because I focus on weight training and gaining muscle.

Take measurements, photos, and use how clothes fit to judge your progress. Chuck out that scale

You can look completely different and weigh the same. I was 155 lbs and working out constantly, i felt thinner than I was at 140 lbs not working out at all. Muscle tone changes everything. Just keep going!

What Melissa said! 5 lbs of muscle takes up way less space than 5 lbs of fat, look up pictures on google! As you're losing fat, you're building muscle which is why you're not "losing weight" perse. Go by measurements, photos, and how your clothes fit. YOU GOT THIS!!!

Also, maintainable weight loss is 1-2 lbs per week. Any more than that and you won't keep it off, trust me.

Also also, you're doing great! Keep it up <3

The scale means literally nothing. I have a friend who has been doing all the beachbody workouts for like 6 months and has gone down two pant sizes lost a lot of inches on her waist but has only lost about 5 lbs. Partly because most of the loose jiggly has turned to muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. I would take all your measurements and judge by that and how your clothes fit and just throw the scale out.

Muscle weighs more than fat so your measurements might be going down but your weight may not.

If the whole point of starting exercise is to look and feel better...what difference does the number make? I'm an athlete and the shape and toning of my body fluctuates greatly based on how far into my season I am. However, the number almost barely changes. The number means nothing. And if you can't bring yourself to look past that... throw away your scale.

"All my clothes feels way better; I feel better."

This is what you should be measuring. That you FEEL good with who you are! Muscle is more dense than fat, so while you may be losing fat, you're also gaining muscle and numbers (scales and clothing size) are not always the best way to measure.

The fact that you are feeling good about yourself is awesome because so many women get down on themselves for not being "this" and being too "that." Congratulations on what you have done so far!

Why does it even matter what the scale says? You just said you feel better...

I agree with the others. Muscle weighs more than fat. The best way to measure is already what you're doing - seeing how your clothes fit! You're doing well!

You shouldn't be trying to lose weight... Getting fit and building muscle changes your body. So you should be focused in feeling better and how your clothes fit! If the scale isn't moving it means you're gaining muscle which is awesome!

Muscle does not weigh more than fat, 1 pound of fat is still 1 pound of muscle.. muscle is just different in form (dense) and the more muscle you can build the more fat you will burn!

At 17 I got prego and weighed 114lbs. I wore a Jr size 5. At 30 I weighed a 129lbs and I was a women's size 4, almost a size 2. I could also at this weight fit easily into my now teen daughters jr size 5 pants. See there.... 114 vs 129 but same size clothes.

Your losing fat but gaining muscle. Depending on how much weight you wanted to lose you may not see a dramatic difference on the scale but you will see a dramatic difference in the mirror! Keep eating a good diet and take pictures weekly.

I got so discouraged working out because the numbers on scale weren't dropping but 1-2 pounds However photos and measurements didn't lie Smiley smile I am able to reassure myself every time by looking at the inches I've lost and seeing it in my photos.

Weight loss takes time! I spent the whole month of July losing and then gaining back the same 2 pounds. Now I'm finally below the line I was wavering around. It's good that you're measuring progress not just with the scale--that would be incredibly frustrating to do. Take measurements and keep noticing how your clothes feel on your body! And keep going!

That reminds me of this photo. All these women weigh the exact same amount. The scale is an inaccurate way to tell if you're "skinny" or "fat" If you're feeling better about yourself then that's what matters! Keep it up!

As everyone said, you are gaining muscle weight. But if it's only been 11 days, then you will not see any big change on the scale, as normally you loose 1-2 pounds a week. And because you are doing an intense workout program, you are probably going to see less pounds lost because of the muscle than if you were loosing pounds on diet alone without exercise. If you feel better and your clothes fit better, then you probably lost bloat and water weight, as that's usually the first to go in the beginning. Don't worry about measuring anything yet, as it's still really early. But the scale is still the way to go, and measuring your BMI periodically.

You're gaining muscle! When I was eating right and working out, I had only lost maybe 5 pounds, but dropped several sizes and felt better than I ever have.
