Christmas time honeymoon ideas!

Hello everyone!

We are having a December wedding, and we are planning on leaving for our honeymoon on 12/17 of this year. Everything is starting to book up already because it is such a popular time to travel!

I have done quite a bit of research, but we are unsure of where to go! Has anyone traveled this time of year and have a recommendation? Neither of us have, and we are pretty clueless.

We don't want to travel super far (ex. Asia), but we are willing to go as far as the Caribbean, Central America, or Hawaii at the furthest. We don't have to have a beach honeymoon, but we want to have plenty of things to do!

Based on your experience, what are some destinations that we should look into? We will be there 6-7 nights.

    Hawaii in December is amazing!!! It's a pretty popular time to go. Not sure about Central or Caribbean, went to the Caribbean in February and it was beautiful, so I'm sure December is nice as well.

    In December, specifically at Christmas time, I've been to : Rivera maya mx, Costa Rica, Antigua, and Jamaica. Weather was beautiful in each location.

    We took a Christmas cruise to Haiti, Jamaica, grand Cayman, and Mexico :-)

    Thanks everyone!! Hawaii and Costa Rica are two of the locations that we are leaning toward so this is nice to hear! I also think Cabo may be nice Smiley smile

    I've never been to Hawaii, but it's one of my top bucket list locations!! My only concern is that I've heard some of the islands are quite rainy in December Smiley sad

    I'm leaving the same day for my honeymoon! We're going on a 7 day western Caribbean cruise for $2,400 including airfare. I've traveled to the exact same places we're going around the same time of the year and it's wonderful! The weather is perfect for swimming but not so hot you can't stand to be outside. The only downside to traveling that close to Christmas is the price difference compared to other times of the year. I would suggest looking for a travel agent. Our travel agent gets us amazing deals!

    If you're willing to sacrifice the warmth and beach, central and Eastern Europe are beautiful that time of year with all the Christmas markets! There is plenty to do, but again, it will be cold.

    We typically take cruises towards the latter part of the year. We went to the Caribbean last December, and it was in the mid 70's to 80's when we left Miami on our cruise. The whole trip there was perfect weather. However, the water is starting to get cold (at least by my standards since I'm from FL.) That was my only complaint, but I still went into the water anyways, just not for long.

    I feel anywhere in December will be pretty perfect.. MYbe check the d.r or costa rica? My favorite place I've visited was st.maarten where the plans take off right next to the beach! Crazy fun
