Cheap wedding venues in Milwaukee/waukesha Wisconsin?

Emily, on September 27, 2019 at 1:02 PM Posted in Wisconsin Planning 3 14

Hi everyone, I recently got engaged and the wedding date is set to be June 18, 2022 (waiting until I graduate college). We are looking in the Milwaukee and Waukesha Wisconsin areas. I know venues fill up quickly, so I am looking at venues and pricing now. My future husband and I would like to have as cheap but beautiful of a wedding as possible. What venue recommendations do you have? We don't have a set style we want, we just want something beautiful but least expensive as we can get. We are hoping to do ceremony and reception at the same place, but can split it up if absolutely needed. Thanks!

Do you have an approximate guest count? I'm also not sure what you would consider inexpensive as everyone's idea of inexpensive is different.

Approximate guest list is 80-100. I don’t see us exceeding 100. Inexpensive to me would be $1,200 or less (preferably less). I’m open to pretty much any place. And like I said above, if it’s cheaper to do ceremony and reception at different places, that’s fine, but I would prefer to do them at the same place.

Okay, does that pricing include food or drinks or is that just to rent the space? For that price it will be really difficult if you want it to include food and drinks.

I mean if food and drink are included that’s a plus but if not, separate catering is totally fine for us

According to Wedding Wire, the starting price for The Astor Hotel is $1,000 for the reception and $500 for the ceremony. Those are starting prices and the cheapest option I found from a quick search. Otherwise, everything else I found was rather expensive.

I just found this place called Barn at Trinity Peak. It says for venue, decorations, uplighting, catering, Baker, alcohol, DJ, photographer and florist is approximately $13,000.

Farmhouse paint and sip in Milwaukee is relatively cheap and very pretty!
But, only holds 100 indoors, and I believe 80 more outdoors.

We are getting married at The Delafield Hotel in Delafield (ceremony and reception)! GORGEOUS hotel! No charge! Just food/beverage minimum depending on the day and time of year!

We are doing the hall at Classic Lanes in Oak Creek. The hall on the main floor is under $600. That does not include catering which they make their own food on the premises.

    Hi there,

I know you're super excited about your wedding, but I would recommend getting a total budget together, because most places I've seen will not charge a rental fee if they have F&B in house. For example, my venue was only $500 but the F&B at my venue was a certain price level and I had a certain F&B minimum.

The other thing you have to consider is how many rental items you need to bring in. My venue included tables, chairs, votives, linens (if I wanted white or ivory), silverware, plates, etc. If you rent just an empty space, you may have to pay to rent all of those things. Case in point, just to rent silverware for my guest count ~250 would be about $2,000.

Also -- because I made this mistake, when the venues give you a jmax capacity, be sure to clarify the table size and whether that includes the dance floor. My venue told me 300, but then what they didn't say was that if I wanted a dance floor (what wedding doesn't have one of those) it's closer to 250 ... and then what they didn't say is that you're cramming 10 people to a 60" table.. well that's really really tight. It's usually 8 people to a 60" and 10 to a 72"
