Champagne toast alternatives

Michelle, on March 14, 2021 at 10:13 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 19
Looking for ideas! I don’t drink alcohol & he’s not a champagne drinker. We still want to do a toast but I’m stumped! I want to use the glasses though... Any & all ideas needed!

Let guests toast with what they are already drinking. Otherwise go with Martinelli's sparkling cider. You can get in 2-3 packs very inexpensively at Costco if you are supplying your own.

Hi Michelle! Sparkling white grape juice may work well or a ginger ale (I love ginger ale!!) will give the same appearance with the bubbles/color as champagne and look pretty in the glasses 🥂❤️

We had a toast ... with champagne for those that drank. But most people at my wedding didn’t, so they had ginger ale in their fancy champagne glasses!! Lol!!

    I drank apple juice.

Looks like wine, but isn't, for those of us who don't drink!

I like the idea of ginger ale- the color & it’s bubbly.

I’m leaning towards ginger ale - the color & it’s bubbly. Gives the appearance of champagne.

There are some really delicious sparkling ciders.

There's also a beverage now called TOST, which is sparkling white cranberry and ginger. It comes in both a regular champagne color and a rosé, as well as a lovely champagne-like bottle. It is intended to have the overall "look" of champagne (color, bubbles, and packaging) without the alcohol.

I've been thinking about this so much. I have resorted to probably allowing guests to just drink what they have during any toasts. I may have some bottles of cider though to just give another option other than beer and wine.

We decided to do a sparkling grape cided instead of champagne because we have many people who don't like champagne.

My FH doesn't drink either, and this might not be something you would consider...but he's going to put his favorite energy drink in his toasting flute. He LOVES Monster, and it's green, so he thinks it'll look kind of cool in the flutes. If you like the sparkling cider like everyone suggested, I would go for it! Otherwise, maybe fill with your favorite drink instead.

Most weddings I've bartended have had either Martinelli's sparkling apple cider or a sparkling white grape juice as a champagne alternative. That always worked out pretty well! Ginger ale is also a good option, though it is a little darker than most champagnes.
