Ceremony line up?

Chinda, on August 18, 2019 at 10:47 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5

I’m really new to this, not so sure where to start .. haha

I will be getting married in December 2020. My brother will be giving me away on my wedding day and his wife is my maid of honor. I wanted to have my sister in law and the best man (my fiancé’s brother) walk together during the ceremony but my brother has a problem with having his wife walk down an aisle with someone other than himself. I love my brother but it is my day isn’t it? That’s how I want it right? I did however think it over with my fiancé and we were thinking the bridal party doesn’t have to walk down the aisle together. We could have the men up front waiting for the bridesmaids and bride.

How are you ladies and gents doing the ceremony?

We had them walk together but they didn't link arms. In other weddings I've seen the groomsmen go first individually and then bridesmaids walk in individually

I was MOH recently and the bridesmaids walked down alone but on the exit, we walked back with the groomsmen. I’m planning doing the same thing and I have two married couples in my party but with the way they will be lined up I don’t think either of them will walk back with their significant others. I mean is it really that big of a deal. I haven’t mentioned it to them yet but I don’t think they will mind the walk back isn’t even a minute. I figured when we introduced the wedding party into the reception, we will pair them up then, possibly. I haven’t quite worked it all out.

Ours are walking down the aisle individually rotating sides.
But you’re right, it’s your wedding and you can have whoever you want walking together. I think it’s ridiculous that your brother has an issue with his wife being escorted by someone else during a wedding ceremony. It’s for a couple of seconds, he will survive. Do whatever makes your happy.

I think I might do that! We don’t have much people in our wedding so it should be 5 seconds at least.

Yes! I just don’t want to have him upset on my wedding. My sister in law thinks he’s over reacting and says she’ll walk with whoever but I know my brother. I just want to make sure everyone is having a good time.
