Celebrity Invites! Plus Ones? Response Cards?

Tiger Bride, on December 2, 2020 at 12:01 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 2 8
I've seen a few discussions on inviting celebrities but I haven't found any that addressed this specific question. If you invited a famous person to your wedding, did you add "and guest" on the invite? Did you include a response card?

.
Our wedding invitations don't have our website info on the card; that is on a separate response card. Should I include that with the invitation? I don't expect these people to come, but a couple of them are not super famous and relatively near the area so it's theoretically possible. Do I need to have the website info?.Also, do I give a +1? Some are married/in relationships...

I would imagine you would just send them the whole invitation suite that you send to everyone else, including the response card. I would also probably give them the plus 1, especially since it's a spouse. Just to be on the safe side, I would still make sure these invites fit into your overall headcount. You never know. You see these stories on the news from time to time when the celebrity actually decides to pop in.

I sent one to Kane Brown (a girl can dream, right??). I sent him an invite like I did to everyone else including an RSVP card and an info card which has our website on it. I also included a personal letter saying that one of his songs is our first dance song and how we'd love if he'd be willing to perform it live for us. Since he has a wife and daughter, I made sure to specify that we have reserved 3 seats on the RSVP card. I doubt he'll show but it was fun sending it anyway lol.

Why not give them a plus one? I say go for it!! Especially because it could increase attendance chances!

And I'd definitely include an RSVP card! The hope is that they'll attend, right? 😉

Also I'm sure that's where their assistants find your information so they can (hopefully) send you back a sweet note or an autograph!

If you don't know the celebrity personally, it's a novelty for autograph purposes and addressed to them only, not a spouse. They don't need your website info either.

If you do know them and they would be on the guest list anyway, they are treated the same as any other with invite addressed to their significant other by name. A significant other is a package deal invite, not a plus one.

I am think of sending one to Chrissy Teigen, so I would 100% put John Legend on there too.
I kind of wanna send ones to celebs who seem fun and would be likely to show up at a wedding for fun. I was thinking Sophie Turner (so I would also invite Joe Jonas), and Taylor Swift (she has a long term boyfriend but they are very private about their relationship so I would most likely just put “and guest” instead of putting Joe Alwyn).

Let us know if you hear back from any! That would be so cool!
