Im currently waiting. My wedding is may 16th so just barely more than 8 weeks away. If it gets pushed longer, we will start talking to the venue and get their input. Worse case scenario we will limit the wedding to immediate family to get under 50 people. We will get married with or without our dream reception

I know it sucks, but this is about the health and safety of everyone. We already decided to postpone knowing full well we wanted people there who would not be able to attend, and this really means that you need to take a hard look at your event. Of course the us government isn't going to tell you not to have an event. Of course your venue won't cancel because they want your money. But fifty people get together, one is a carrier, fifty people become carriers. Please, please understand I know this situation is difficult. But they're recommending for a reason. This virus is not something to mess with.

I wish everyone lots of love and understanding. Talk with your vendors - ours were willing to work with us and move our date for no charge. My heart goes out to all of you, but please think this through.

It’s a recommendation.. each venue will do what they feel is best. Contact them and see what their thoughts are! Our wedding is 4 weeks away and we’re still having it!

Our wedding is 5/16 too! We're waiting it out too before we cancel it postpone. Have you sent invites out yet? I sent mine out the first week of March and have already gotten several positive responses. Have you thought about how you would handle notifying all the guests that you would be un-inviting?

We have sent out invites about 4 weeks ago since most of our guests are out of town. We would notify guests who would need to fly or travel first and do it my phone call. I know both sides of a our family would totally understand. And we arent thinking we would need to contact many if any since we are anticipating 80-90 guests who rsvp positive and im sure some of those would change to negative if things dont turn around with the coronavirus

Our wedding is 4 weeks away too, and we're still hoping to have it. I haven't contacted vendors yet to confirm but I'm terrified they may cancel on us

It’s just a recommendation. You don’t have to cancel. I’m sure most venues will follow through, if not they will loose money. I’d go about business as usual.
