Hello,

I am Mexican and typically in Mexico for weddings we give big gifts (couches, fridges, washers etc) because I live in an apartment and do not have a house yet many of my family members want to give us cash instead especially those that cannot make it to the wedding. So I was hoping to create a cash fund however, I am trying to make it less tacky. The compromise my fiance and I reached was to add the cash fund as a separate link registry in our website. My question to you is which is the best website for this? I have considered Zola, Zankyou, and Paypal. Any thoughts, advice, and recommendations are welcome!!!

Guests who prefer to give cash will find a way to get it to you. You don’t need to set up a website specifically for it, as that will offend any guests outside of the social circle who do not follow that custom and prefer physical gifts instead.

If guests are travelling from overseas and want to give you money, they will give you cash at the wedding or afterwards. If they don't attend but want to give you a gift, they will either find a way to do this or will ask for your bank details to do this electronically.

I think PayPal would be the most convenient for people since it is widely used across the globe for everyday money transactions. I'm not sure if the other sites charge a fee, but that's a consideration. I don't think it's tacky at all. If your guests are accustomed to purchasing big ticket items and you'd rather have the money instead, your guests will be happy to give you both what you actually want/need.

We set up several cash funds (Newlywed Fund, Bridal Bouquet Preservation Fund, New Appliances Fund, Renovate Bathrooms Fund, Refinish Hardwood Floors Fund, and Roundtrip Airplane Tickets Fund), on our Zola registry (The funds can be transferred to our bank account). We anticipate most of our guests will buy gifts off our registry, but we thought sharing how we plan to use any cash we receive may be helpful for those deciding on whether or not to give/send cash.

We decided to use Zola for both our registry and website, so I didn’t try importing it here. I do, however, know it is possible. Check out: https://help.zola.com/hc/en-us/articles/360016311171-How-do-I-add-my-Zola-Registry-to-my-wedding-website-on-WeddingWire-
