Carribbean Honeymoon for under $4k?

Kalyn, on July 6, 2018 at 10:56 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 21

FH and I are looking for a honeymoon in the Carribbean for a week for less than $4k - is this even possible? Everything I find that looks nice is $1k per night!

We are going to Jamaica in February & staying at Couples Swept Away in Negril for 5 nights and the resort itself is definitely under $4K. But, that doesn't include our airfare because we're using my Southwest points. If you have a good one close to you, I would recommend using a travel agent. Ours was really helpful in narrowing what we wanted down & they just make commission from the resort so it didn't cost anything extra.

Hand down go on a cruise. Any Royal Caribbean would be my pick. If you want a full week in the Caribbean they have ships that leave from Texas, Florida and Mexico. The room you get will vary the price, but you have so much included.

When are you planning to travel, where are you located and where in the Caribbean are you looking? If you are planning to go right after the wedding, it will be hurricane season. Also, what type of place are you looking at that is $1K/night?

You could probably find something at a Sandals resort for about $4k including airfare but it won't be Butler service if that's something you want.

If you consider cruising, then definitely! We're doing a week cruise to the western Caribbean and it's way under that price, and we got a suite.

We were in the DR for a friends wedding, we paid $2800 for our all inclusive. Flights I think were around 400 round trip (from NJ in March). There are plenty of places where you could go close to that, or like others have said, cruise around!

Honestly no none at all!! I was skeptical first becuse my fiancé had booked the trip and I knew nothing about Antigua before hand !! But it was amazing so beautiful! It’s hands down the perfect honeymoon spot so relaxing !! I highly suggest going to sting ray city and go to zip lining if you can !! From what I experienced it’s not much of a party island which I was fine with

Look at cruises! There are a bunch that offer rates that will keep you under that, and since cruises are all inclusive (save for alcoholic beverage packages), you pay your flight, and tips for the service you received, and you have a great honeymoon in several Caribbean destinations and you only unpack your bag and repack once.

Look into the Cheap Caribbean website. The places on that website are reasonably priced and very nice!

We are staying at Sandals in Jamaica and have 5 nights for $1800. Our flights will end up being around $1000 so total of around $3000 for it all.

You can totally find a great deal for under $4k!! Where are you flying out of? And do you care what country? I have stayed a whole week at an all inclusive in DR and it was $600 per person including air! I have also done Curaçao for around the same, but for just 4 nights, 5 days. I always search for deals and trust me there are tons out there. There are a lot of options. I am also in NYC so the flight options are usually great. Check out JetBlue Vacations and Cheap Caribbean. Also travelpirates and travelzoo for deals!

Wow, so many good suggestions! We'd be flying out of Philadelphia or Baltimore and hoping to go in January or February to avoid hurricane season

Agreed! Ships also leave from Maryland and New Jersey as well. We are doing an 11 night cruise for 5k, including the deluxe beverage package (unlimited alcohol, soda, specialty coffee and fresh pressed juices) for both of us and 4 shore excursions!

Royal Caribbean cruises leave from the Baltimore harbor and Cape Liberty (in New Jersey, a few hours from Philly)! The Baltimore ship is smaller than the New Jersey ship but both are nice!
