Cape Cod/Martha's Vineyard vs. Charleston

Lisa Marie, on February 15, 2012 at 7:48 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 4

Ok, so FH and I began looking into honeymooning in Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. The other day, my sister mentioned that Charleston, SC is also a beautiful place to visit. Now we can't decide which one we want to go to. I like them both from what I've seen and read so far, but for different reasons. Anyone have any advice/suggestions? Which place would be better for our honeymoon?

Cape Cod and the Islands including Martha's Vineyard/Nantucket or Plymouth are for honeymooners and the Cape is only 1-1 1/2 drive from Boston or Newport RI

You will not regret Charleston, I promise you!! I've lived there twice, there are outlying islands, you can take long leisurly drives stopping at neat little boutiques and restraunts, you can watch locals do the shag (which is amazing, google it!) Downtown Charleston is charming like nothing else, must see the battery, the open air market, anyplace downtown is great!!!

Charleston is so beautiful and a great place to bring guests. I attended one there last year. BUT June in SC is TERRIBLE. We were there in May and it was so unbearable. The wedding was at the Magnolia Plantation and the reception was on the roof / deck of some house on the land. It was nice but very expensive and HOT HOT HOT.

Vendors are very expensive in the area. I am having my photographer and DJ come from Charleston (we are getting married in Columbia, SC)

I have never been to Marthas vineyard so I don't have an opinion on it. Just wanted to give you some things to think about.
