After much thought and consideration (and many tears from stress), we decided to scrap our plans B and C. Instead of trying to have a small ceremony at one of our parents house, we decided to move forward with plan D and elope in our home state of Florida.
With the number of cases day by day, and the travel bans in effect, it just seemed prudent to elope and live stream the ceremony to our families who are unable to attend.
My fiance's parents still plan to make the trip (driving). My mom is still thinking about it (I told her I would understand if she couldn't make it because I didn't want her flying and risk getting sick but she's thinking of driving down too). So we hired an officiant and photographer, got a nice room at a resort by the beach and will elope there with either one set or both sets of parents. I assumed from the minute we decided to elope that we would forgo a first dance. Well my fiance brought the first dance up yesterday. When I said I thought we weren't going to, he seemed disappointed. Honestly I thought only I was disappointed at not having one.
So my question is - would it be weird to do a first dance? Would it be awkward given the small amount of people to have a first dance? Looking for thoughts and opinions please ♥️
