Can i See Your Cake Sizes?

Tiger Bride, on March 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
Hey y'all. We are tentatively going with a two-timer cake, 8 and 10 inches in diameter. However I am concerned that since there's only a 2 inch difference between the tiers, visually they won't be very distinguishable and the cake will look "wide". Does anyone have pics of their cakes, and the sizes they went with

I know I can ask the baker, but it's Publix, so they don't have a whole lot. Thanks!

I believe the bottom layer was about 18 inches.

Beautiful cake! Do you recall what the other sizes were?

Thank you! Unfortunately, I am not sure of the other sizes. We just had to give the bakery our headcount and they made the cake the big enough to feed everyone. The only reason I know the bottom part is because we were looking for a stand for the cake and it was an uncommon size so the stand would've cost us an arm and a leg so the stand pictured is one that the bakery had and let us borrow.

I decorate wedding cakes. It is incredibly common for a 10" and 8" to be paired together. Nothing will look odd about that at all. How many people do you need to serve would be more my concern.

I had a 2 tier cake that was 6" and 8" for my microwedding (20 people). Your cake won't look odd at all.

I don't remember the size, but we had 2 tiers.

Your size would be very common.

We went to a cake tasting yesterday and the baker had different cake sizes on display. We decided to go with the 8" and 10", which didn't look awkward at all.

We are getting two half sheet cakes plus the 8/10 tiered. The order form said it would feed 112 and so far we have 93 coming, but I expect the holdouts will be mostly declines.
