Calf

Okay so I have a huge love for cows and really want a calf at my wedding (like for photos) but I can't figure out how to go about getting a cow, any help or suggestions?

Welcome to WeddingWire, Paige!! Smiley ring This is such a fun idea! Does the area where you're getting married have any local farms or ranches? I would ask around and see if any of them would be interested. You could also ask a local 4H group.

Knowing as little as I do about cows and farms in general, would your wedding be an appropriate time for a calf? I don't know how young you're looking for the calf to be, but I don't know when calving season starts and I figure that a lot of county and state fairs are over by September. So I don't know if what you're asking for would be completely possible.

Hi Paige! I’d recommend reaching out to your county 4H and FFA programs. If you’re not overly familiar with the behavior of calf’s, it’s a great resource to see if you’d even want one around (former FFA kid here, and I’m saying probably not because cow patties are a mess to clean up) but if you do end up wanting one there, the kids could probably earn community service credits or something similar. Just an idea.

Ask the local 4-H club. There cows are all leash trained since they show them
