Cake Wars: Intricate or Understated?

Definitely love both, but we chose a simple style since it's more suitable for our overall theme!

I like the intricate look best.

Simple. My dad is making my cupcake stands for us and they are super intricate and he is putting a lot of time into it; so my cupcakes and cake will be simple.

Understated, i think. I'll have a few frosting flowers and my topper but not a significant amount of detail. Less is more!

Both are beautiful, but I do love a more simple style and that's what we're doing for our wedding.

I didn't think our cake was intricate, but based on those photos, I guess that is what I like.

This poll has really reminded me how my FH took control of the cake lol. I love understated, and would want a very minimal cake. BUT we ended up with a very intricate cake. All white, thank goodness, but there are a lot of fondant details on it that you'll notice when you're closer to it.
