If he’s a cook, you may be able to bring him in as the caterer, even without paying him. Our venue let’s us bring any outside caterer we want, we just need to pay an extra $1,000 if it’s not one of their preferred vendors.

Sometimes venues don't allow external caterers due to liability concerns. They would rather you use their caterer or pick from a list of preferred caterers.

Has your brother catered at any wedding before or does he know a catering company which has? He may be able to provide you with or get you a list of venues that allow external caterers.

Another suggestion is searching for venues which don't typically provide catering options themselves, such as a community hall!

I would check community centers. We got ours for only 275 dollars and we could bring in our own food and drinks. Other ideas are UAW halls, VFW halls, places like that.

Hey Girl! We had our wedding at Oasis Special Center. They allowed outside catering! My husbands family made all of our food. We had a great time there!
