Buying the dress: In-store vs. Online

I'm having a dilemma about where I should buy my wedding dress. I follow an online company that makes customized dresses and I fell IN LOVE with one of their ball gowns that's within my price range. However, my fiance doesn't like the idea of me buying my wedding dress online because I won't be able to try it on until after I receive it and insists that I find a dress at a bridal shop instead. I've been into 3 local bridal shops and tried on 8-10 dresses, none of them were even close to the style I showed the consultants unless I pay hundreds of dollars in alterations. Why go through the hassle of traveling to multiple stores and trying on dozens of dresses just to settle for one I won't be happy with when I can get the exact dress I want online for the same price or less? Should I just settle for a dress off the rack or is the risk of buying online worth the potential payoff of getting the PERFECT dress?

    Maybe he can try to be happy with what you find that makes you happy. Have you tried on any dresses that of similar in style to what you like online? That should at least satisfy his concern. The dress may well need alteration to make it fit best whether gotten through a boutique or a custom shop. Just make sure of their reputation in doing this.

    No I do not think you should just settle with your wedding dress. Maybe your FH is looking at the risk to ordering online such as a totally different dress or cheaply made. While you might just be looking at a picture of the dress. I want and most likely will order mine online, so I understand where you are coming from. If you're sure that you love that dress more then any other dress you can find in store then I say go for it.

    I think he’s just concerned about it not arriving in time or arriving and you hate it. So I would order with plenty of extra time and let him know you have time to fix a mistake if there is one, but you want to get the dress you love.

    Lulu’s online was awesome! My dress it perfectly. They show body types so you can pick your shape perfectly!

    I definitely think you should think this thru and do what's best for you😊 with that being said, I found the type of dress I wanted online. I was scared and nervous. I did it because....I still had plenty time to start from scratch if I hated the dress. And it was 490
    All the other dresses, that just didn't cut it was3 to 5 K. I took the chance I read the reviews etc. And bought the dress. My dress came in about 2 months. And I loved it. Just what I wanted. Great fabric made very good. Of course I still have to get it altered. Due to weight loss and that process starts in Aug😀. I'm happy with my decision.
    Just shop around and read reviews. Hope all goes well. Find the perfect dress.💜

    Thank you everyone for your comments! I decided to go with my heart and ordered the original dress I wanted. This is a picture of the dress that will be custom made for me by Belinda from Romantic Threads. It ended up being a bit over my budget but I'm praying that it will be worth it if it comes out this beautiful. Buying the dress: In-store vs. Online 1

    What site did you buy from? I have found a few I like on different online sites...Ravellia, Dorris Wedding, and Glamora. Great pricing on all and beautiful...but I am so scared to pull the trigger on one. Hoping your positive experience was from one of these to ease my mind!
