Fontana Village Resort & Marina! 45 minutes west of Cherokee, near Bryson city. They’re on weddingwire. Ceremony site, event hall w/bridal suite, food (they have a wide variety of options, the catering package we chose is $24.99/person at 75 people), 2 kegs of beer, 2 cases of wine, cash bar, unlimited venue access day of. All for $5000. They have other cheaper options for smaller weddings too. It’s a beautiful place! Our wedding is November 6th, so add peak fall foliage colors.😍

View Quoted Comment I totally understand that. It’s a 4 hour drive for us, but most of our families would be traveling from out of state anyways. We let everyone know 1.5 years in advanced so that everyone had plenty of time to save money and get time off and everything. Ultimately, we chose Fontana because the total cost came out to be about 1/4th of the cost for a basic venue with catering in our area (Charlotte, NC). The way we decided to look at it is; if our friends and family love us, they’ll come. Those who don’t will miss out. Lol
